VMware Horizon 6 RDS Application Pools allow administrators to deliver a single application to many users. The application runs on a farm of RDS hosts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Before proceeding with the deployment, it is required to have a Farm<\/a> configured in the environment.<\/p>\n

Deploy an Application Pool<\/h2>\n

Open the View Administrator console and navigate to Catalog > Desktop Pools<\/strong>. Click on Add<\/strong> button to create a new application pool.<\/p>\n

Select the RDS farm previously created and select the applications<\/strong> to create as application pools. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Edit the ID<\/strong> or the Display Name<\/strong> then click Finish<\/strong> to create the Application Pool.<\/p>\n

Since we didn't entitled any user to view desktops and applications yet, the Add Entitlements<\/strong> window appears. For now click Cancel<\/strong> to close the window.<\/p>\n

The selected applications are now listed in the Application Pools.<\/p>\n

Entitle users to a Desktops Pool<\/h2>\n

Open the View Administrator console and navigate to Catalog > Desktop Pools<\/strong>. Select the Desktop Pool to entitle, click on Entitlements<\/strong> button and select Add entitlement<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

Click Add<\/strong> to add users and groups.<\/p>\n

Click Find<\/strong> button and select from the list the users or groups to add then click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When done, click OK<\/strong> to entitle selected users and groups to the selected\u00a0Desktop Pool.<\/p>\n

In the Entitled<\/strong> column you can check the number of entitlements.<\/p>\n

Entitle users to an Application Pool<\/h2>\n

Open the View Administrator console and navigate to Catalog > Application Pools<\/strong>. Select the applications to entitle, click on Entitlements<\/strong> button and select Add entitlement<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

Click Add<\/strong> to add users and groups. Click Find<\/strong> button and select from the list the users or groups to add then click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When done, click OK<\/strong> to entitle users and groups to the selected Application Pool.<\/p>\n

Repeat same steps to entitle\/unentitle<\/strong> additional users\/groups.<\/p>\n

The installation of Horizon 6 is now complete. Last step covers the use of the Horizon Clients to connect to View desktops and applications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
