Deploy Operations Manager<\/h2>\n

From VMTurbo<\/a> website download the appliance for vSphere.<\/p>\n

To deploy the Operations Manager in a vSphere cluster, from vCenter Server<\/strong> right click the cluster and select Deploy OVF Template<\/strong> item.<\/p>\n

Browse your computer and select the downloaded .ova file<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enable Accept extra configuration options<\/strong> and click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Click Accept<\/strong> to accept the EULA.<\/p>\n

Assign a Name<\/strong> to the VM then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the preferred virtual disk format<\/strong> then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong> to deploy the appliance.<\/p>\n

vCenter privileges for Operations Manager access<\/h2>\n

The account used by Operations Manager to access vCenter must have sufficient privileges<\/strong> to access environment data and to perform recommended actions.<\/p>\n

Open vSphere Web Client and go to Home<\/strong> and select Roles<\/strong> under Administration.<\/p>\n

Right click Read-only<\/strong> role and select Clone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Assign a Role name<\/strong> and check the permissions as listed in the table above. Click OK<\/strong> when done.<\/p>\n

In the Hosts and Clusters <\/strong>view, go to Manage > Permissions<\/strong> and assign the new role<\/strong> to the VMTurbo service account.<\/p>\n

Configure basic settings<\/h2>\n

Form vSphere Web Client, power on<\/strong> the virtual appliance just installed.<\/p>\n

When the boot is complete, access the console.<\/p>\n

Set the IP address<\/h4>\n

To change the appliance IP address access the appliance console and login using ipsetup\/ipsetup<\/strong> for username and password.<\/p>\n

The Network Setup<\/strong> screen opens with default configuration (DHCP).<\/p>\n

Set the correct parameters then click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Set your time zone then click OK<\/strong> to save settings.<\/p>\n

Setup NTP for time sync<\/h4>\n

To setup NTP on VMTurbo to keep the time in sync, edit the \/etc\/ntp.conf<\/em> file and modify the last two lines accordingly.<\/p>\n

Change the default server names to the FQDN of your time servers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
