VMTurbo Operations Manager installation is pretty easy and takes only few minutes. Once deployed, the working environment configuration is the next step to perform.<\/p>\n

To complete the configuration successfully you need the license key and some info related to your virtual infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Configure Operations Manager<\/h2>\n

Using your preferred browser, type the address http:\/\/VMTurbo_IP_address<\/strong> to access the login page. Type the default credential administrator\/administrator<\/strong> for User Name and Password then click Log In<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Setup Wizard<\/strong> window appears. Click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Select the License Installation<\/strong> option and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To get the license you need to submit a license request. Click on Submit Request<\/strong> link to access the VMTurbo web page.<\/p>\n

In the VMTurbo web page, fill the form and click Submit Request<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

You will receive an email with an attached license.txt<\/strong> file with the trial license key.<\/p>\n

Copy and paste the license then click Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

To set a vCenter Server in the Target Configuration<\/strong> window, select Hypervisor > vCenter<\/strong> options then type Host name<\/strong>, Username<\/strong> and Password<\/strong>. Click Save<\/strong> to store the configuration.<\/p>\n

The vCenter Server has been validated.<\/p>\n

Integration with Active Directory<\/h2>\n

From the main screen access the Admin<\/strong> tab. On the right side of the window, type the Active Directory Domain<\/strong> and the Active Directory Server<\/strong> then click Apply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the left side select Group<\/strong> option and click on Add<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

Type the Group Name<\/strong>, assign a Group Role<\/strong> then click Create<\/strong>. Same group must exist in Active Directory.<\/p>\n

The group has been created successfully.<\/p>\n

Now login VMTurbo using an account member of the administrator group just created. Click Log In<\/strong> to access the system. In the upper-right corner you can see the logged username<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Configure email notification<\/h2>\n

Access the Policy<\/strong> section and click under Category<\/strong> the Email\/Trap Notification<\/strong> item. In the right pane fill the SMTP<\/strong>\u00a0and From Address<\/strong> fields then click Apply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select Operation Manager Notifications<\/strong> item and in the\u00a0right pane\u00a0click on\u00a0green plus icon<\/strong> to add an email address. Set the parameters and click Apply Setting Change<\/strong> button when done.<\/p>\n

Test the email<\/strong> notification by clicking the blue circle icon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Working with Operations Manager<\/h2>\n

To take benefit of VMTurbo features, after the installation let the system run for a couple of hours<\/strong> in order to collect the infrastructure info<\/strong>. After a while first recommendations start coming up.<\/p>\n

To set the default main screen view, click in the left side the Dashboards<\/strong> button e select the desired view.<\/p>\n

If the view is set as Assure Service Performance<\/strong>, recommendations to improve performance\u00a0are shown.<\/p>\n

In this example, the system suggest to move the VM to another host to prevent Mem congestion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click in the right side on Details<\/strong> to display additional info.<\/p>\n

To apply suggested actions<\/strong>, check the VM and click on Apply<\/strong> button. In this example, the VM is moved to a different host.<\/p>\n

In the left side click again on Dashboard<\/strong> button and select Improve Overall Efficiency<\/strong> item.<\/p>\n

System shows some actions to perform<\/strong> in order to optimize efficiency. To apply suggested actions, edit the VMs and adjust parameters<\/strong> as recommended.<\/p>\n

There are some views available to better analyze your environment.<\/p>\n

Supply Chain<\/strong> view represents the flow of resources from the datacenter through the physical tier of your environment into the virtual tier, ultimately delivering these resources to customers through applications.<\/p>\n

In the Workload<\/strong> view you have a unique perspective on the distribution of workload throughout your environment.<\/p>\n

Inventory<\/strong> view shows the health of your entire virtual environment from a single view.<\/p>\n

Software Updates<\/h2>\n

To check for new software updates go to Admin<\/strong> view. In the left side click Workflow<\/strong>, select Maintenance<\/strong> option then click Check<\/strong> button under Software updates<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n

If any update is found, click Update<\/strong> button to proceed.<\/p>\n
