{"id":13736,"date":"2015-09-10T10:00:32","date_gmt":"2015-09-10T08:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/?p=13736"},"modified":"2023-07-16T11:25:00","modified_gmt":"2023-07-16T09:25:00","slug":"vmware-client-integration-plugin-no-longer-working","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/vmware-client-integration-plugin-no-longer-working\/","title":{"rendered":"VMware Client Integration Plugin no longer working"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking01\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking01.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking01\" width=\"602\" height=\"202\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chrome 45<\/strong> has been released on 1st September taking NPAPI completely out from the browser disabling the VMware\u00a0Client Integration Plugin functionality in vSphere Web Client.<\/p>\n<p>The plugin is no longer working <strong>also using other browsers<\/strong> like Firefox or Internet Explorer.<\/p>\n<p>As result, in Chrome the <strong>Use Windows session authentication<\/strong> option is not working anymore and you have to login by <strong>manually entering<\/strong> the credentials.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking02.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking02\" width=\"600\" height=\"133\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately the login process is not the only feature that has been affected. Also the <strong>deployment of an OVF template<\/strong> is not working since the plugin is a required component.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking03\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking03.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking03\" width=\"600\" height=\"352\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Trying the access using <strong>Firefox 40<\/strong> you receive an error related to an <strong>untrusted connection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking04\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking04.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking04\" width=\"600\" height=\"289\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Same situation with Internet Explorer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking05\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking05.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking05\" width=\"600\" height=\"229\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reinstalling the VMware plugin doesn't fix<\/strong> this matter and a different solution\u00a0must be found.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking06\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking06.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking06\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Opera browser<\/h2>\n<p>Trying to find a working solution, I found out Opera at the moment is the <strong>only browser<\/strong> that still works with VMware Client Integration Plugin. Normally I don't use this browser but\u00a0I had to install the browser on my computers to manage vSphere.<\/p>\n<p>From Opera website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.opera.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download<\/a> and run the installer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking14\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking14.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking14\" width=\"573\" height=\"428\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the installation has completed, type in the browser the vCenter Server address. The <strong>Use Windows session authentication<\/strong> feature is available to login. Enable the option and click <strong>Login<\/strong> to access vSphere Web Client.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking15\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking15.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking15\" width=\"600\" height=\"438\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Browser may ask to update Flash Player. Click <strong>Update Flash<\/strong> to proceed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking16\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking16.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking16\" width=\"600\" height=\"382\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using Opera, the vSphere Web Client is fully working.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking17\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking17.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking17\" width=\"600\" height=\"438\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also the deployment of OVF packages works perfectly.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; float: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; margin: 0px auto; display: block; padding-right: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"cipnolongerworking18\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/cipnolongerworking18.jpg\" alt=\"cipnolongerworking18\" width=\"600\" height=\"374\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I think time has come for VMware to quickly implement a new web client maybe <strong>HTML based<\/strong> to avoid all these problems.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Update<\/h2>\n<p><em>Source <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtuallyghetto.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtuallyGhetto.com<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>A new version of CIP package has been released to restore the plugin functionality that <strong>no longer relies on NPAPI<\/strong>. The fix works for both vSphere 6.0 and\u00a0vSphere 6.0 Update 1.<\/p>\n<p>Download the <a href=\"http:\/\/vsphereclient.vmware.com\/vsphereclient\/2\/9\/9\/4\/0\/4\/1\/VMware-ClientIntegrationPlugin-6.0.0.exe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Client Integration Plugin<\/a>\u00a0from VMware website.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/firma.jpg\" alt=\"firma\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chrome 45 has been released on 1st September taking NPAPI completely out from the browser disabling the VMware\u00a0Client Integration Plugin functionality in vSphere Web Client.
