Available for<strong> FVP 2.5 and later releases<\/strong>, it automates and make the overall procedure easier saving a considerable amount of time.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>FVP VUM extension<\/h2>\n<p>Using the VUM extension is now possible to perform the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installing the PernixData FVP Host Extension for the first time<\/li>\n<li>Upgrading the PernixData FVP Host Extension (for both major version upgrades and hotfix upgrades)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Due to limitations with VUM, the FVP Host Extension <strong>uninstall process remain the same<\/strong> as previous releases.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Import PernixData FVP Host Extension for VUM<\/h2>\n<p>From PernixData website <a href=\"https:\/\/pernixdatainc.force.com\/downloadlinks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download<\/a> the correct version of the FVP Host Extension for VUM to install in your hosts <strong>members of the FVP cluster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14332 size-full\" title=\"pernixdatavum02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/pernixdatavum02.jpg\" alt=\"pernixdatavum02\" width=\"429\" height=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From vSphere Client, select <strong>Update Manager<\/strong> tab and click on <strong>Admin View<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14334 size-full\" title=\"pernixdatavum03\" baseline<\/h2>\n<p>Select the<strong> Baseline and Groups<\/strong> tab and click on <strong>Create<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14343 size-full\" <strong>Name<\/strong>\u00a0(i.e. <em>PernixData Host upg<\/em>), a <strong>Description<\/strong> and select the <strong>Host Extension<\/strong> as <strong>Baseline Type<\/strong> then click <strong>upgrade the FVP Management Server<\/strong> first to guarantee the correct functionality of FVP. Before starting the process, write down\u00a0the FVP release currently installed in the system.
