Install VM Explorer<\/h2>\n

From Trilead web site download<\/a>\u00a0latest release of VM Explorer then run the installer. Click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Accept the EULA by flagging the I accept the terms in the License Agreement<\/strong> option then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Leave default installation folder then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Install<\/strong> to start the installation.<\/p>\n

Trilead VM Explorer 6.0 is being installed.<\/p>\n

Flag Launch VMX now<\/strong> option then click Finish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When the Starter<\/strong> opens, select Web Interface<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

Setup Web Server<\/h2>\n

In the configuration window, enter the Hostname or IP<\/strong> and Enable https<\/strong> option. You can Browse<\/strong> for an existing SSL certificates<\/strong> or generate a new one. Click New<\/strong> to generate a new certificate.<\/p>\n

The application generates a self-signed certificates to be installed on the local machine. Click OK<\/strong> to proceed.<\/p>\n

Click on Trilead VM Explorer HTTPS Certificate<\/strong> to see the details. Flag Enable automatic redirect from http port 80 to https<\/strong> option to establish\u00a0a secure communication with the server and enable\u00a0Start Web Server Automatically<\/strong> option as well. Click Start<\/strong> button to start the Web Server.<\/p>\n

The Web Server has been started. Click OK<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

In the Running on<\/strong> field is displayed the Web Server address. Since the admin password hasn't been set yet, enter the New\u00a0Administrator password<\/strong> then\u00a0click Change password<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The new password has been updated. Click OK<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Click Start and Save<\/strong> to save the configuration and start the Web Console<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A new feature of VM Explorer 6.0 is the localization of the web interface<\/strong>\u00a0in three languages. From the menu select the preferred language.<\/p>\n

Enter admin credentials then click Login<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Add license<\/h2>\n

First step to do after accessing the Web Console is the installation of the license. Click on Install License<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

In the License Manager<\/strong> tab, paste the license received from Trilead then click Activate New License<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Trilead VM Explorer 6.0 is available also as\u00a010-day trial<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Click OK<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Under the Current License<\/strong> section you can see the license edition installed.<\/p>\n

Configure email notifications<\/h2>\n

Select E-Mail Default Settings<\/strong> tab to configure the email parameters to receive application\u00a0alerts. Click Save<\/strong> when completed.<\/p>\n

Configure Active Directory<\/h2>\n

To grant AD users permissions to manage VM Explorer, select Active Directory<\/strong> tab and click Add<\/strong>\u00a0to connect the Active Directory in use.<\/p>\n

Enter the Domain Name<\/strong> and the Domain Controller<\/strong> then click Test Connection<\/strong> to verify the specified\u00a0parameters.<\/p>\n

Type the Domain Administrator<\/strong> credentials and click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If the test completed successfully click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Add<\/strong> to add the tested Domain Name<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Active Directory domain is now displayed in the list.<\/p>\n

Select the Users\u00a0<\/strong>tab and click Add Active Directory Users<\/strong> to access the AD\u00a0users list.<\/p>\n

Select the previously added Domain Name<\/strong> and click on\u00a0Retrieve Users<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

Select the needed Usernames<\/strong>\u00a0then\u00a0click Add<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the added users and assign the correct\u00a0group\u00a0selecting the role<\/strong>\u00a0from the Add selected Users to Group<\/strong> drop down menu.<\/p>\n

Click Add<\/strong> to save the selected users and groups.<\/p>\n

In the Users<\/strong> tab the local and selected Active Directory users are displayed.<\/p>\n
