In addition to providing design recommendations, you have an integrated platform for executing them.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15322 size-full\" title=\"pernixdataarchitectsetup02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/pernixdataarchitectsetup02.jpg\" alt=\"pernixdataarchitectsetup02\" width=\"572\" height=\"522\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Compared with traditional\u00a0data center management tools where they do very little to identify why the problem is happening and what to\u00a0do to fix it,\u00a0PernixData Architect can address the issue and,\u00a0in addition to descriptive analytics, it provides\u00a0a\u00a0<strong>prescriptive and predictive analytics<\/strong> for optimum design recommendations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Descriptive Analytics<\/strong> \u2013 Identify and profile the top 10 VMs on latency, throughput and IOPS.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Predictive Analytics<\/strong> \u2013 Calculate server-side resources needed to run a VM in <em>Write Through<\/em> versus <em>Write Back<\/em> mode, ensuring optimal hardware is allocated before a problem arises.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prescriptive Analytics<\/strong> \u2013 Recommend ideal server-side resources based on application patterns.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Install Architect<\/h2>\n<p>If you have already PernixData\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/pernixdata-fvp-3-0-installation-pt-1\/\">FVP 3.0<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/pernixdata-fvp-freedom-features-setup\/\">Freedom<\/a>\u00a0editions installed in your system,\u00a0the upgrade to version 3.1 is pretty straightforward and requires few steps.<\/p>\n<p>From\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/pernixdatainc.force.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PernixData Portal<\/a>\u00a0download the required\u00a0software:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FVP Management Server (includes both FVP and Architect)<\/li>\n<li>FVP Host Extension<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Upgrade FVP Host Extension<\/h4>\n<p>First component to upgrade is the FVP Host Extension installed in the ESXi hosts <strong>members of the FVP cluster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There are two options to upgrade the hosts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manual upgrade - a detailed procedure can be found in this <a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/pernixdata-fvp-3-0-installation-pt-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">post<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Using <strong>VMware Update Manager<\/strong> (VUM) - check out <a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/pernixdata-fvp-host-extension-upgrade-with-vum\/\" target=\"_blank\">this article<\/a> to\u00a0setup the\u00a0FVP Host Extension for VUM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-15331 size-large\" title=\"pernixdataarchitectsetup03\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/pernixdataarchitectsetup03-600x368.jpg\" alt=\"pernixdataarchitectsetup03\" width=\"600\" height=\"368\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Upgrade\u00a0PernixData Management Server<\/h4>\n<p>Once hosts have been upgraded, the FVP Management Server can be installed running installer. If an <strong>existing version<\/strong> of FVP\u00a0software is installed in the system, the Wizard will perform an\u00a0upgrade process.
