vRealize Automation is a solution by\u00a0VMware to automate the delivery of personalized infrastructure<\/strong>, applications and custom IT services.<\/p>\n

In version 7 the installation process has been simplified and during the prerequisites check,\u00a0there is a fix button that automatically fix<\/strong> any missing elements in\u00a0your Windows servers through the new agent.<\/p>\n

Install vRealize Automation VA<\/h2>\n

From vSphere Web Client, right click the cluster and select Deploy OVF Template<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

Click Browse<\/strong> to select the\u00a0VMware vRealize Automation<\/a>\u00a0OVA file downloaded from VMware and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Accept the EULA then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Type a Name<\/strong> for the appliance then click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Select virtual disk format<\/strong>, datastore then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

In the Application<\/strong>\u00a0area set the\u00a0password<\/strong>, enable SSH service<\/strong> and enter\u00a0the Hostname\u00a0<\/strong>providing the FQDN.<\/p>\n

In the Networking Properties<\/strong> area type all the requested network parameters then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Optionally enable Power on after deployment<\/strong>\u00a0then click Finish<\/strong> to begin the VA deployment.<\/p>\n

The VA is being deployed.<\/p>\n

When the process completes successfully, the console\u00a0displays\u00a0the parameters to access<\/strong> the VA.<\/p>\n

Setup the vRA<\/h2>\n

Login the virtual appliance\u00a0using the below parameters then click Login<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

User name: root
\nPassword: \u00a0 configured\u00a0during setup<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Click Next<\/strong> to begin setup using the installation wizard.<\/p>\n

Accept the EULA then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Choose the\u00a0Minimal deployment<\/strong>\u00a0option\u00a0and enable the Install IaaS<\/strong> option. Click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Selecting the Enterprise deployment<\/strong> option\u00a0instead, you have the possibility to design the topology<\/strong> best suited to your organization's needs. Note that selecting\u00a0this option additional steps are required to complete the configuration.<\/p>\n

Since the Install IaaS<\/strong> option has been previously selected, in this screen you find a\u00a0link to download the Management Agent<\/strong> installer. Click on\u00a0vCAC-IaaSManagementAgent-Setup.msi<\/strong> link to download the application to deploy to your Windows Servers.<\/p>\n

Enable the Use Time Server<\/strong> option and type the IP address of your NTP server<\/strong> to keep\u00a0the time in sync. Click Change Time Settings<\/strong> button to apply the new configuration.<\/p>\n

Install the Management agent<\/h4>\n

For each Windows Server that acts as\u00a0IaaS machine<\/strong>, run the installer just downloaded. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Accept the EULA then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Leave default destination folder and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enter the address and credentials\u00a0<\/strong>for your vRA appliance. Click the Load<\/strong> button to get\u00a0the SSL fingerprint<\/strong> and enable\u00a0the\u00a0I confirm the fingerprint...<\/strong> option. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enter the credentials of the dedicated Active Directory\u00a0service account<\/strong> then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Install<\/strong> to begin the installation.<\/p>\n

The agent is being installed.<\/p>\n

When the process has been completed, click Finish<\/strong> to exit the wizard.<\/p>\n

Once the Management Installer finishes, go back to the VA wizard. At the bottom of the screen there is now an IaaS Server listed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
