After installing the\u00a0vRA and the IaaS machines, the configuration has to be finalized<\/strong> to have the system up and running.

Configure vRealize<\/h2>\n

Once the Time Server<\/strong> has been set and the IaaS machines has been discovered, click Next<\/strong> to continue with the configuration.<\/p>\n

Click Run<\/strong> to execute the prerequisite checker.<\/p>\n

If some requirements are not meet, click Fix<\/strong> to automatically\u00a0install missing components.<\/p>\n

The prerequisite checker is being performed.<\/p>\n

You may experience\u00a0some components haven't been installed because the\u00a0Windows Server doesn't have the correct path to the ISO. A\u00a0manual fix<\/strong> is\u00a0required\u00a0to solve the problem.<\/p>\n

Once fixed missing components, click Next<\/strong> to continue with setup.<\/p>\n

Select Enter host <\/strong>option and enter the FQDN of the virtual appliance then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enter a password for your default tenant administrator<\/strong> account and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"vrealize7configuration09\"<\/p>\n

Enter the IaaS Web Server<\/strong> address (the Windows IaaS Host previously configured) and select from the drop-down menu the IaaS host<\/strong> to install components on. Enter the administrative\u00a0credentials of the IaaS host\u00a0and a Security Passphrase<\/strong> for the SQL database to use for encryption. Click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Enter the MS-SQL Server Name<\/strong>\u00a0and the Database Name<\/strong>. Thick the Create new database<\/strong> option and click Next<\/strong>. The account that runs the Management Agent on the main website server needs to have System Administrator<\/strong> rights on the SQL server. Keep in mind that MS-SQL Express version is not supported.<\/p>\n

Select the IaaS Host Name<\/strong>\u00a0(only one available in the example) to install the DEM, specify an Instance Name<\/strong> and enter the\u00a0credentials to install the DEM service. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select a machine to host the agent and the Agent Type<\/strong> from the drop-down menus and complete the configuration values.\u00a0Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select Generate Certificate<\/strong> option to create a self-signed certificate, enter the required info then click Save Generated Certificate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select Keep Existing<\/strong>\u00a0as Certificate Action<\/strong>\u00a0then\u00a0click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Repeat same steps\u00a0for the web certificate.\u00a0Select Generate Certificate<\/strong> option,\u00a0enter the required info then click Save Generated Certificate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select Keep Existing<\/strong>\u00a0as Certificate Action<\/strong>\u00a0then\u00a0click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Check the certificate information and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To validate all the settings click Validate<\/strong> button. The process takes some minutes.<\/p>\n

The validation process is being executed.<\/p>\n

When the validation has been completed successfully, click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As suggested by the installation wizard, take a snapshot<\/strong> of the vRA and configured IaaS Servers.\u00a0This avoid to start the setup from scratch if something goes wrong. When done click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From the vSphere Web CLient take the snapshots of the vRA and IaaSServers.<\/p>\n

Click Install<\/strong> to proceed with installation. The process takes a bit of time.<\/p>\n

The installation is being executed.<\/p>\n

If\u00a0the installation fails at Verify that all services are started<\/strong>\u00a0step, it means\u00a0some\u00a0service is not up and running<\/strong> the health check fails and this behavior repeats until maximum number of retries is reach. The\u00a0number of retries as well as time between every health check retry\u00a0can be changed.<\/p>\n

To change the number<\/strong> of retries and the\u00a0time between every health check retry, from the VA console, edit the\u00a0\/etc\/vcac\/vcac-config.properties<\/strong> file.<\/p>\n

The default values<\/strong> could be\u00a0the reason of the failure and should be changed.<\/p>\n

Set a bigger value<\/strong> and save the file. Go back to\u00a0the vRA web console and click Install<\/strong> to proceed with the installation again.<\/p>\n

When the installation has been completed successfully, all items are marked with a green check marks. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Next step is the installation of the\u00a0New License Key<\/strong>. Type the license key then click Submit Key<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enable or disable the Telemetry<\/strong> submission then click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enter the Password<\/strong> for\u00a0configurationadmin<\/strong> <\/em>and optionally click Create Initial Content<\/strong>\u00a0button.<\/p>\n

The Initial Content Configuration is being processed. When the process has been completed, click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Access vRA components<\/h2>\n

In the browser type the address https:\/\/IP_address_DNS_name<\/strong>\u00a0of the appliance to access the main components of vRA:<\/p>\n

  • vRealize Automation console<\/strong> - to access vRealize Automation.<\/li>\n
  • VMware vRealize Automation Appliance management<\/strong> - to manage this appliance.<\/li>\n
  • vRealize Automation IaaS installation page<\/strong> - to install vRealize Automation IaaS components on Windows.<\/li>\n
  • vRealize Orchestrator Client<\/strong> - to connect to the built-in vRealize Orchestrator Server.<\/li>\n
  • vRealize Orchestrator Control Center<\/strong> (the service is stopped by default).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Click on\u00a0the item you want to work with<\/strong> to access the admin\u00a0console.<\/p>\n
