You don't need <strong>any additional configuration<\/strong>\u00a0and all <strong>changes doesn't affect<\/strong> the backup and are discarded when the VM is powered off.<\/p>\n<p>When you run Flash VM Boot, a <strong>new VM without disks<\/strong> is created on the target ESXi server, and then from the Backup Repository <strong>exposes VM disks as iSCSI<\/strong> target that are mounted to the created VM as <strong>RDM disks<\/strong> in virtual compatibility mode.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-19604 size-large\" title=\"nakivoflashbootscreenshotverification02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/nakivoflashbootscreenshotverification02-600x159.jpg\" alt=\"nakivoflashbootscreenshotverification02\" width=\"600\" height=\"159\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Flash VM Boot feature allows to verify not only backups integrity but also to <strong>test updates and patches<\/strong> before\u00a0applying them to production.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Execute Flash VM Boot<\/h4>\n<p>To perform the instant recovery <strong>at least one full backup<\/strong> must be available for the processed VM. Depending on the scope of the recovery process (restore, patch testing, etc) you can specify the <strong>Network<\/strong> to use. To be sure that all backups are good and protected data can be <strong>restored successfully<\/strong>, backups must be verified to assure they are not corrupted.<\/p>\n<p>Screenshot Verification is the features included in Nakivo to <strong>verify backups and replicas<\/strong>\u00a0with the additional capability to send the screenshot\u00a0of recovered VMs as a proof.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Verify Backups<\/h4>\n<p>When the VM backup is completed, the VM is recovered with the <strong>Flash VM Boot<\/strong> technology with the <strong>network disabled<\/strong>\u00a0on the VM to prevent network connections. It makes a screenshot of the booted OS, discards the recovered VM, and <strong>sends a report<\/strong> with the screenshot.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Verify Replicas<\/h4>\n<p>After a VM replication is completed, Nakivo Backup &amp; Replication<strong> disables networking<\/strong> on the VM replica to prevent network connections and powers on the replica.
