width=\"600\" height=\"259\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Finalize failover<\/h4>\n<p>When a VM has been failovered, administrators can decide the <strong>finalizing Failover<\/strong> operation to perform by choosing between following operations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undo Failover<\/li>\n<li>Permanent Failover or\u00a0Failback<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Select <strong>Finalize Failover<\/strong> option as restore type and click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20895 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication27\" class=\"fontstyle0\">Three finalize types are available:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>Undo Failover<\/strong> - <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">changes done in replicated VM during Failover are deleted and <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle2\">reverts back to its original state before Failover.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Permanent Failover<\/strong> - the replicated VM is made as the source VM\u00a0permanently.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Failback<\/strong> - the replicated VM along with Failover data is\u00a0restored to the source host as a production machine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Select <strong>Undo Failover<\/strong> and click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20897 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication29\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication29-600x285.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication29\" width=\"600\" height=\"285\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the review page click <strong>Next<\/strong> to proceed with the selected operation.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20898 size-large\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Changes occurred in the replicated\u00a0VM are discarded\u00a0and the VM is reverted to its\u00a0pre-failover state.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Permanent Failover<\/h4>\n<p>Selecting <strong>Permanent Failover<\/strong> option, the system makes the replica VM as the <strong>source VM permanently<\/strong>. Click <strong>Next<\/strong>\u00a0to proceed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20899 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication31\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication31-600x286.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication31\" width=\"600\" height=\"286\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Failback<\/h4>\n<p>Select\u00a0<strong>Failback<\/strong>\u00a0option as Finalize Type to recover the VM to the source host or another host as <strong>production VM<\/strong>.\u00a0<span class=\"fontstyle0\">This option is enabled only when Failback as Finalize type in\u00a0Finalize Failover (Restore type).<\/span> Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-20904\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication36-600x231.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"231\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Specify the <strong>Failback Options<\/strong> and click <strong>Next<\/strong> to proceed with recover.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20901 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication33\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication33-600x286.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication33\" width=\"600\" height=\"286\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Check the configuration in the <strong>Review<\/strong> page and click <strong>Next<\/strong> to start the Failback process.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20902 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication34\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication34-600x286.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication34\" width=\"600\" height=\"286\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to confirm.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-20903\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication35-600x117.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"117\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Restore Progress<\/strong> page shows the details of the VM processed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20904 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication36\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication36-600x231.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication36\" width=\"600\" height=\"231\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Failback operation has been completed successfully.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20906 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication37\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication37-600x233.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication37\" width=\"600\" height=\"233\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From the VMware vSphere Web Client you can see the processed VM up and running in the specified host.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20907 size-full\" title=\"vembubdr37replication38\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication38.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication38\" width=\"594\" height=\"390\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Store backups offsite<\/h2>\n<p>VMBackup provides also options of sending the <strong>backup data offsite<\/strong>\u00a0(data center or Vembu Cloud) for data redundancy and disaster recovery increasing\u00a0<strong>security and data integrity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>From the Dashboard's main menu select <strong>Management &gt; Offsite Copy Management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20908 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication39\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication39-600x263.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication39\" width=\"600\" height=\"263\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To store backups offsite, you need to enable the <strong>Offsite Copy<\/strong> option from the management page.\u00a0<span class=\"fontstyle0\">Before enabling Offsite copy, user need to <\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\"><strong>register Vembu BDR server<\/strong>, from <strong>Management &gt; Server Management<\/strong>\u00a0menu, to their\u00a0Vembu Portal account<\/span><span class=\"fontstyle0\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20911 size-large\" title=\"vembubdr37replication40\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/vembubdr37replication40-600x403.jpg\" alt=\"vembubdr37replication40\" width=\"600\" height=\"403\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Offsite Copy mode<\/strong> allows the administrators to specify if a personal data center or Vembu cloud will be used to store backups.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Vembu Cloud<\/h4>\n<p>Vembu CloudDR is a cloud based disaster recovery server that maintains an offsite copy of backup server data.<\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>Vembu Cloud<\/strong> option and specify\u00a0<strong>Window<\/strong>, <strong>Retention<\/strong> and <strong>Bandwidth<\/strong> settings.
