Check out\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/starwind-virtual-san-installation-pt-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">StarWind VSAN installation<\/a>\u00a0article for additional information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Select the StarWind Server with Cloud VTL service installed then click <strong>Add VTL device<\/strong>\u00a0option.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21694 size-large\" title=\"starwindvtldeployment12\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/starwindvtldeployment12-600x425.jpg\" alt=\"starwindvtldeployment12\" width=\"600\" height=\"425\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>Create a New Virtual Tape Library<\/strong> option and specify the <strong>Name<\/strong>. You can also\u00a0enable the <strong>Fill Storage Slots with empty tapes after Create<\/strong>\u00a0option to fill all slots with empty tapes in the newly created library. Select the VTL device and click <strong>Create Tape<\/strong> in the <strong>Tapes<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21701 size-large\" title=\"starwindvtldeployment19\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/starwindvtldeployment19-600x420.jpg\" alt=\"starwindvtldeployment19\" width=\"600\" height=\"420\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If requested, you can specify a <strong>custom path<\/strong> to store tape files. Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21702 size-full\" title=\"starwindvtldeployment20\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/starwindvtldeployment20.jpg\" alt=\"starwindvtldeployment20\" width=\"585\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Specify the <strong>Number of Tapes<\/strong> to create, <strong>Tape Type<\/strong> and the <strong>Custom Tape Size<\/strong>\u00a0if any then click <strong>Create<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21703 size-full\" title=\"starwindvtldeployment21\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/starwindvtldeployment21.jpg\" alt=\"starwindvtldeployment21\" width=\"585\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tape is created in the <strong>Slot 1<\/strong>\u00a0of the VTL device under <strong>Tapes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21704 size-large\" title=\"starwindvtldeployment22\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/starwindvtldeployment22-600x465.jpg\" alt=\"starwindvtldeployment22\" width=\"600\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"fontstyle0\">Mounting VTL on the backup host<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To use the VTL device along with <a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/veeam-backup-and-replication-9-5-whats-new\/\">Veeam Backup and Replication Server<\/a> and <strong>StarWind VTL<\/strong>, we need to mount the corresponding <strong>VTL iSCSI target<\/strong> first.<\/p>\n<p>From the Windows Server open the <strong>Microsoft iSCSI Initiator<\/strong> and select <strong>Discovery<\/strong> tab. Click <strong>Discover Portal<\/strong> button and enter the <strong>value <span class=\"fontstyle0\">127.0.0.1<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0in the <strong>IP address<\/strong> field then click <strong>Advanced<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21705 size-full\" title=\"starwindvtldeployment23\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/starwindvtldeployment23.jpg\" alt=\"starwindvtldeployment23\" width=\"495\" height=\"698\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Specify <strong>Microsoft iSCSI Inititator<\/strong> as <strong>Local Adapter<\/strong> then click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-21706 size-full\" title=\"starwindvtldeployment24\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/starwindvtldeployment24.jpg\" alt=\"starwindvtldeployment24\" width=\"542\" height=\"641\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the <strong>Targets<\/strong> tab and select the iSCSI target <strong>related to StarWind VTL<\/strong> device.
