{"id":22234,"date":"2017-10-16T09:15:49","date_gmt":"2017-10-16T07:15:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/?p=22234"},"modified":"2023-07-16T11:28:12","modified_gmt":"2023-07-16T09:28:12","slug":"vcsa-6-5-deployment-error-installer-is-unable-connect-vami","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/vcsa-6-5-deployment-error-installer-is-unable-connect-vami\/","title":{"rendered":"VCSA 6.5 deployment error \"The installer is unable to connect to the VAMI\""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22235 size-full\" title=\"vcsa65connecterror01\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/vcsa65connecterror01.jpg\" alt=\"vcsa65connecterror01\" width=\"602\" height=\"202\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During the deployment of vCenter Server Appliance 6.5, you may receive the error message \"<em>The installer is unable to connect to the vCenter Appliance Management Interface<\/em>\" (VAMI).<\/p>\n<p>The deployment of the VCSA strongly rely on the <strong>DNS infrastructure availability<\/strong> and a DNS record must be entered before starting the installation process.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22241 size-large\" title=\"vcsa65connecterror02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/vcsa65connecterror02-600x339.jpg\" alt=\"vcsa65connecterror02\" width=\"600\" height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The problem occurs at <strong>Stage 1 of the deployment<\/strong> procedure and you might experience this error for two reasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a missing <strong>A DNS record<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>DNS PTR<\/strong> for the VCSA<\/li>\n<li>wrong VLAN\u00a0<strong>Network<\/strong> or IP address of the <strong>Default gateway<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22242 size-large\" title=\"vcsa65connecterror03\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/vcsa65connecterror03-600x339.jpg\" alt=\"vcsa65connecterror03\" width=\"600\" height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the entered parameters are correct, <strong>Stage 1<\/strong> of the VCSA deployment completes successfully.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22252 size-large\" title=\"vcsa65connecterror04\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/vcsa65connecterror04-600x339.jpg\" alt=\"vcsa65connecterror04\" width=\"600\" height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Before starting the VCSA deployment, make sure you <strong>configured the DNS Server accordingly<\/strong> by creating the two VCSA records and specified the correct <strong>VLAN Network<\/strong> or entered the correct\u00a0<strong>IP address of the Default gateway<\/strong> in the configuration during the VCSA deployment.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"signature\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/firma.jpg\" alt=\"signature\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the deployment of vCenter Server Appliance 6.5, you may receive the error message \"The installer is unable to connect to the vCenter Appliance Management Interface\" (VAMI).
