A pointer to the unique data copy <strong>replaces redundand data blocks<\/strong>\u00a0allowing to reduce backup size by saving only unique data blocks to the backup repository.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-22664 size-large\" title=\"nakivo-deduplication-appliance-support-02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/nakivo-deduplication-appliance-support-02-600x200.jpg\" alt=\"nakivo-deduplication-appliance-support-02\" width=\"600\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Deduplication Appliance support<\/h2>\n<p>The upcoming new version 7.3 will introduce the support for enterprise-grade deduplication appliances such as <strong>EMC Data Domain<\/strong>, <strong>HP StoreOnce<\/strong>, <strong>NEC Hydrastor<\/strong>, <strong>Quantum DXi<\/strong>, and other similar appliances, which can be used as a <strong>backup target<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Nakivo provides a <strong>special backup repository type<\/strong> with an architecture optimized for working with deduplication devices.
