Runecast released\u00a0Runecast Analyzer<\/a> 1.7, the new version of the solution that proactively uses VMware KBs, best practices and security hardening guides to protect your virtual environment.<\/p>\n

The new version adds VMware vSAN<\/a> functionality allowing administrators to scan VMware vSAN clusters preventing possible outages and other issues.<\/p>\n

Most notable improvements in Runecast Analyzer v1.7<\/a> are the following:<\/p>\n

Added VMware vSAN as new product<\/h4>\n

Runecast Analyzer 1.7 discovers vSAN problems<\/strong> before they even have a chance to impact servers, users and business. To keep the vSAN configuration in optimal condition<\/strong>, not only monitoring performance is a key point but\u00a0it is also extremely important preventing future failures or outages.<\/p>\n

The Analyzer vSphere plugin shows all the problems and how to fix steps right next to the rest of the vSphere object data.\u00a0The plugin displays all issues detected<\/strong> by Runecast Analyzer with all details about their root causes, as well as effective steps for resolving them.<\/p>\n

Update Runecast Analyzer<\/h2>\n

Using your favorite browser, type the address https:\/\/runecast_IP_address:5480<\/em> to access Runecast Analyzer admin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Go to\u00a0Update<\/strong> tab to check for new updates. If new updates are available, click Install Updates<\/strong> button to update the appliance.<\/p>\n

Click OK<\/strong> to confirm the installation.<\/p>\n

Update the VMware vSphere web plugin<\/h4>\n

Login to Runecast Analyzer and go to Settings > vCenter Connection<\/strong>. In the Web client plugin<\/strong> column is indicated the current version and if new updates are available.<\/p>\n

To proceed with the plugin update click Edit > Update Plugin<\/strong>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

Click Update<\/strong> to install the new version.<\/p>\n

The plugin has been updated successfully. Click Close<\/strong> to exit the wizard.<\/p>\n

The installed plugin version is now shown as 1.7. Since this is an update of an existing installation, no further configurations<\/strong> need to be done in the system.<\/p>\n

Open the vSphere Client to access the vCenter Server and go to Administration > Client Plug-Ins<\/strong> section. The Runecast plugin has been updated to version 1.7 and it's fully working.<\/p>\n
