VMs running critical applications may have <strong>dependencies to other VMs<\/strong> and the failover process of these virtual machines needs a <strong>specific timeline<\/strong> to follow, such as Domain Controllers first, then SQL database, applications, and so on.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-24443 size-large\" title=\"veeam-orchestrator-setup-02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/veeam-orchestrator-setup-02-600x523.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-orchestrator-setup-02\" width=\"600\" height=\"523\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This process can be automated through the Veeam Backup &amp; Replication's <strong>Failover Plan<\/strong> feature.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-24370 size-large\" title=\"veeam-orchestrator-setup-03\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/veeam-orchestrator-setup-03-600x326.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-orchestrator-setup-03\" width=\"600\" height=\"326\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With VAO you can perform the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Meet disaster recovery compliance requirements<\/strong> - generate and automatically update\u00a0documentation for DR procedures to eliminate the problem of outdated DR plans.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Automate DR procedures<\/strong> - create workflows that orchestrate failover operations for Veeam Backup\u00a0&amp; Replication replicas.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prove recoverability<\/strong> - build test schedules to automate the verification of failover plans, with isolated\u00a0and low-impact testing of VM replicas and the applications they run.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<p>The following systems are supported by Veeam Availability Orchestrator 1.0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VMware vSphere 5.x or 6.x<\/li>\n<li>Veeam Backup &amp; Specify <strong>Windows authentication credentials of service account<\/strong>\u00a0to connect the SQL Server.
