Support for vSphere 6.7<\/h4>\n

The new version 7.5 introduces the full support<\/strong> for latest VMware vSphere 6.7 providing a complete protection also for virtual machines running on this platform version.<\/p>\n

Advanced Bandwidth Throttling<\/h4>\n

By design, Nakivo tries to take the maxium available bandwidth to perform backup jobs. If the business requires to run backup jobs also during business hours without collapsing the network, the Advanced Bandwidth Throttling feature (Bandwidth Throttling<\/a> was introduced in version 7.4) allows to control the amount of bandwidth<\/strong> used by the backup processes. This feature provides different customization options to manage the bandwidth usage through dedicated rules (Global or Per job basis) based on specific requirements.<\/p>\n

You can can create bandwidth rules accessing the Bandwidth throttling<\/strong> section from Settings > General<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Cross-Platform recovery<\/h4>\n

A cool new feature in version 7.5 allows you to restore workloads to different platforms<\/strong>, useful in a multi-hypervisor environment scenario. VM disks can be exported in the requested format and restored on a different hypervisor regardless of the source platform.<\/p>\n

From the Dashboard, click Recover<\/strong> in the main menu and select Export backups<\/strong>\u00a0to start the wizard.<\/p>\n

After selecting the VM backup to process, in the\u00a0Options<\/strong> section you have to specify the disk format to export<\/strong> by choosing between\u00a0VMDK, VHD and VHDX<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

EMC Data Domain Boost support<\/h4>\n

Version 7.5 integrates with EMC Data Domain Boost optimizing the VM backups perfomance (50% faster) taking advantage of deduplication feature\u00a0(ratio 17:1) saving space and offloading the network (99%) by performing deduplication at the source.<\/p>\n

The new Nakivo Backup & Replication version can be directly installed on NETGEAR ReadyNAS<\/a> servers. Embedding the application directly on the NAS improves the backup performance providing a complete and cost effective VM backup appliance with all available functionalities, such as backup software, deduplication and backup-to-cloud.<\/p>\n
