Since the first vSphere component to configure is always the vCenter Server, you have the option to perform a <strong>fresh installation or an upgrade<\/strong> from a previous version. Currently the vCSA direct upgrade to version 6.7 is <strong>supported for the vCSA 6.0 or above<\/strong>\u00a0with the exclusion of version 6.5 U2 but it was announced during <a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/vmworld-2018-us-recap\/\">VMworld 2018 US<\/a> that migration from 6.5 U2 will be supported with the upcoming vCSA 6.7 U1 update release.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Blog Series<\/h2>\n<p>vSphere 6.7 install vCSA 6.7 - pt.1<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/vsphere-6-7-upgrade-vcsa-6-5-to-6-7-pt-2\/\">vSphere 6.7 upgrade vCSA 6.5 to 6.7 - pt.2<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/vsphere-6-7-upgrade-esxi-6-5-to-6-7-pt-3\/\">vSphere 6.7 upgrade ESXi 6.5 to 6.7 - pt.3<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/vsphere-6-7-upgrade-vsan-6-6-to-6-7-pt-4\/\">vSphere 6.7 upgrade vSAN 6.6 to 6.7 - pt.4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Pre-requisites<\/h2>\n<p>Because VMware vSphere infrastructure strongly <strong>depends on DNS<\/strong>, before proceeding with the installation of the vCSA you have to configure the <strong>A record in your DNS Server<\/strong> that points to the new vCenter Server.<\/p>\n<p>In your DNS Server (Windows version in the example) create a <strong>new A record<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-35127 size-full\" title=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/vsphere-67-install-vcsa-02.jpg\" alt=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-02\" width=\"538\" height=\"565\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Specify the <strong>DNS name<\/strong> and the associated <strong>IP address<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-35129 size-large\" title=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-03\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/vsphere-67-install-vcsa-03-600x281.jpg\" alt=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-03\" width=\"600\" height=\"281\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When the DNS entry has been created, you can begin the installation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Install the vCSA<\/h2>\n<p>To perform a new install of the vCenter Server Appliance (vCSA), from the <a href=\"https:\/\/my.vmware.com\/en\/web\/vmware\/info\/slug\/datacenter_cloud_infrastructure\/vmware_vsphere\/6_7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VMware website<\/a> download the latest version of the vCSA in <strong>.ISO format<\/strong>. Mount the ISO and select the appropriate installer based on the OS from which the installation is executed. The installation can be\u00a0launched from one of the <strong>supported OSs<\/strong>: Windows, Linux, and MacOS.<\/p>\n<p>The installation of the vCSA is a <strong>two stage process<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Stage 1<\/strong> - Deployment<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stage 2<\/strong> - Configuration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stage 1 begins deploying the vCenter Server.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Stage 1 - Deploy appliance<\/h4>\n<p>If your OS is Windows, access the <strong>vcsa-ui-installer &gt; win32<\/strong> directory and run the <strong>installer.exe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-35131 size-large\" title=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-04\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/vsphere-67-install-vcsa-04-600x345.jpg\" alt=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-04\" width=\"600\" height=\"345\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From the installation wizard, click <strong>Install<\/strong> to proceed with the installation of a new vCenter Server.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-35133 size-large\" title=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-05\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/vsphere-67-install-vcsa-05-600x480.jpg\" alt=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-05\" width=\"600\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-35136\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/vsphere-67-install-vcsa-06-600x480.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"480\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Accept the EULA then click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-35138 size-large\" title=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-07\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/vsphere-67-install-vcsa-07-600x480.jpg\" alt=\"vsphere-67-install-vcsa-07\" width=\"600\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the deployment type. You can deploy a <strong>vCenter Server with an Embedded PSC<\/strong>\u00a0suitable for medium to small environments or install a <strong>standalone PSC<\/strong> and vCenter Server for a more complex infrastructure.
