Ensure new devices are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmware.com\/resources\/compatibility\/search.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">included in the HCL<\/a> is the key for a successfull deployment or a successfull replacement of failed hardware.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38447 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-02-600x295.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-02\" width=\"600\" height=\"295\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Runecast Analyzer 2.6 VMware HCL<\/h2>\n<p>After upgrading the Runecast Analyzer appliance, a new <strong>HW Compatibility<\/strong> menu is displayed in the left side.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38459 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-03\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-03-600x405.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-03\" width=\"600\" height=\"405\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To verify if used components are included in the HCL, you need to\u00a0<strong>scan your vCenter<\/strong>\u00a0first. Click the <strong>Analyze now<\/strong> button to scan the vCenter.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38461 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-04\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-04-600x304.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-04\" width=\"600\" height=\"304\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Accessing the <strong>HW Compatibility<\/strong> section you can check what servers are not compliant with the HCL. Switch the <strong>Only hosts with issues<\/strong> button ON\/OFF to filter and display <strong>only the hosts<\/strong> with detected issues.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38463 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-05\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-05-600x241.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-05\" width=\"600\" height=\"241\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select one host to analyze detected issues. Click on <strong>Server<\/strong> to check the sections with a red exlamation mark <strong>detected as critical<\/strong>. In the example the selected server has a possibly incompatible issue with the used vSphere version.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38465 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-06\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-06-600x289.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-06\" width=\"600\" height=\"289\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>I\/O Devices<\/strong> to check the hardware installed in the host and the hardware not compatible.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38467 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-07\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-07-600x322.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-07\" width=\"600\" height=\"322\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If Runecast Analyzer 2.6 detects an incompatible component, select the component detected as not compatible and<strong> analyze the reported issue<\/strong> (picture from Runecast).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38469 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-08\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-08-600x556.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-08\" width=\"600\" height=\"556\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can also click on the arrow in the right side to be redirected to the <strong>VMware Compatibility Guide<\/strong> to check supported firmware versions.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38471 size-full\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-09\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-09.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-09\" width=\"501\" height=\"452\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Upgrade Runecast Analyzer to version 2.6<\/h2>\n<p>The upgrade process is done using the GUI and it requires only few clicks. Click on <strong>Settings icon<\/strong> and select <strong>Update<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38473 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-10\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-10-600x238.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-2-6-automated-vmware-hcl-10\" width=\"600\" height=\"238\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can upgrade Runecast also<strong> from the console interface<\/strong>. Login using the <strong>default credentials rcadmin\/admin<\/strong> and access the <strong>Update<\/strong> section.
