VMware released the new VMware vSphere 6.7 Update 2 introducing several big changes and enhancements<\/strong> in the overall system that is quite unusual for a minor update.<\/p>\n

First change you can notice after upgrading the vCenter is the new login page<\/strong>. Enter your credentials or Use Windows session authentication<\/strong> option then click Login<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What's new in vCenter Server 6.7 Update 2<\/h2>\n

As already stated during the release of VMware vSphere 6.7<\/a>, the external PSC topology has been deprecated<\/strong> in favour of the new Enhanced Linked Mode feature that is able to link up to 15 embedded vCenter.\u00a0<\/strong>During the deployment procedure, now you can see a clear warning about the deprecated PSC topology.<\/p>\n

Converge Tool now in the GUI<\/h4>\n

The Converge Tool<\/a>, available from vSphere 6.7 Update 1, used to merge an external PSC into a vCSA via CLI is now available directly in vSphere Client<\/strong>. As announced already during the release of vSphere 6.7, VMware deprecated the topology of vCSA with an external PSC.<\/p>\n

To perform the Converge to Embedded<\/strong> procedure, from the vCSA select Menu > Administration<\/strong> then under Deployment<\/strong> section select System Configuration<\/strong> (picture from VMware vSphere blog).<\/p>\n

Enhanced protection against L1TF attack<\/h4>\n

With vSphere 6.7 Update 2, the L1TF security vulnerability<\/a> protection has been implemented including a modified scheduler that also recaptures performance impacted by the vulnerability.<\/p>\n

File-Based backup and restore<\/h4>\n

In addition to HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, SCP protocols, vCenter Server 6.7 Update 2 extends the supported protocols for vCSA backup and restore introducing the support for NFS and SMB protocols<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Another feature releated to backup and restore is the introduction of the Event Notifications<\/strong>\u00a0on backup job success and failure.<\/p>\n

The Content Library<\/a> feature is continuosly enhanced with new cool capabilities. vSphere 6.7 Update 2 adds the feature to synchronize VM templates<\/strong>\u00a0between vCenter Servers configured in Enhanced Link Mode or Hybrid Linked Mode.<\/p>\n

VMware vSphere 6.7 Update 2 introduces the Virtual Hardware 15<\/strong> which extends the support maximum as follows:<\/p>\n
