The product is a virtual appliance distributed in OVA format<\/strong> that acts as a syslog server providing several views and information. The installation requires few clicks with a minimal configuration.<\/p>\n

Install vRealize Log Insight 4.8<\/h2>\n

Download vRealize Log Insight<\/a> OVA file from VMware website to proceed with appliance deployment.<\/p>\n

Right click the vCenter object on which you want to deploy the appliance and select Deploy OVF Template<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

Configure vRealize Log Insight<\/h2>\n

When the VM has booted, check the IP Address<\/strong> or the DNS Name<\/strong> to use to access the appliance.<\/p>\n

Open your favorite browser and access the vRealize Log Insight appliance by entering the IP address or the FQDN<\/strong>. When the configuration wizard opens, click Next<\/strong> to begin the setup.<\/p>\n

For a new installation, click Start New Deployment<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

Configure how to collect logs<\/h4>\n

Configured the appliance, you need to specify the way you want to get log<\/strong> data. Click Configure vSphere Integration<\/strong> link to collect events from the vCenter Server and logs from ESXi hosts.<\/p>\n

Enter the authentication details and click Test Connection<\/strong> to verify if entered credentials are correct. Click Advanced option<\/strong> to specify ESXi hosts to monitor.<\/p>\n
