Monitoring capabilities can be extended in vRealize Operations Manager 7.5 by installing optional solutions provided by VMware<\/a> or third parties.<\/p>\n

Adapters for vCenter<\/a>, vSAN<\/a>, vRealize Log Insight provided by VMware are solutions that can be installed in vRealize Operations Manager 7.5 to provide information also from these products with a global overview of your environment.<\/p>\n

Configure vRealize Operations Manager 7.5<\/h2>\n

To install and configure VMware solutions, using your preferred browser type the IP Address of your vROPs appliance<\/strong> then enter the credentials. Click Log In<\/strong> to access vRealize Operations Manager 7.5.<\/p>\n

Configure vCenter Adapter<\/h4>\n

From Administrator<\/strong> section, click Configuration<\/strong> under Solutions<\/strong> item. Select VMware vSphere<\/strong> solution and click on Settings<\/strong> icon.<\/p>\n

Specify a Display Name<\/strong> of the selected solution and optionally a Description<\/strong>. Enter the vCenter Server<\/strong> IP Address or FQDN then click on +<\/strong> (plus) sign to specify the credentials to use.<\/p>\n

Type a Credential name<\/strong> and specify the User Name<\/strong> and Password<\/strong> to use. Click OK<\/strong> to confirm.<\/p>\n

Leave Enabled Actions<\/strong> option as Enabled<\/strong> then click Save Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Accept<\/strong> to accept the self-signed certificate.<\/p>\n

The vCenter Server solution has been configured successfully. Click Close<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Configuration<\/strong> area the vCenter Adapter<\/strong> is now collecting data from the specified vCenter Server.<\/p>\n

From Operations Overview<\/strong> area is possible to check collected information from the vCenter Adapter.<\/p>\n

Configure vSAN Adapter<\/h4>\n

If your infrastructure uses vSAN as datastore<\/a>, you can monitor also this storage type by adding the appropriate solution to vRealize Operations Manager.<\/p>\n

From Administrator<\/strong> section, click Repository<\/strong>\u00a0under Solutions<\/strong> item. Click Activate<\/strong> in the VMware vSAN widget.<\/p>\n

Click Yes<\/strong> to confirm activation.<\/p>\n

VMware vSAN solution has been activated in vROPs.<\/p>\n

Now click Configuration<\/strong> under Solutions<\/strong> item from Administrator<\/strong> section and select VMware vSAN<\/strong> solution. Click on Settings<\/strong> icon to proceed with vSAN Adapter<\/strong> configuration.<\/p>\n

Configure Log Insight solution<\/h4>\n

If you have vRealize Log Insight<\/a> installed in your environment, you can configure vRealize Operations Manager to integrate this product by adding the appropriate solution.<\/p>\n

From Administrator<\/strong> section, click Repository<\/strong>\u00a0under Solutions<\/strong> item. Click Activate<\/strong> in the VMware vRealize Log Insight widget.<\/p>\n

After few seconds, VMware vRealize Log Insight solution has been activated in vROPs.<\/p>\n

Again, click Configuration<\/strong> under Solutions<\/strong> item from Administrator<\/strong> section and select VMware vRealize Log Insight<\/strong>\u00a0solution. Click on Settings<\/strong> icon to proceed with vRealize Log Insight Adapter<\/strong> configuration.<\/p>\n

Configure vRealize Operations in vCenter<\/h2>\n

To display data collected from vROPs also in vCenter, from the vCenter Server select vRealize Operations<\/strong>\u00a0from main Menu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Specify the Instance FQDN<\/strong> and Username<\/strong> and Password<\/strong> to connect. Click Test Connection<\/strong> to validate the connection to vROPs. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Specify the vCenter IP<\/strong> and the Username<\/strong> and Password<\/strong>. Click\u00a0Test Connection<\/strong>\u00a0to validate the connection to vROPs then click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Configure<\/strong>\u00a0to install vRealize Operations plugin.<\/p>\n

Now are displayed collected information related to the vCenter Server health. Click on Quick links<\/strong> and select a previously configured solution, such as vSAN, to display information related to status and health<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Selecting the vSAN item, information related to the datastore are displayed in the screen.<\/p>\n
