Although the RecoverPoint<\/a> plugin for vCenter is automatically installed during the deployment process, the manual installation could be required in some situations.<\/p>\n

The procedure is pretty simple and all you need is to download the correct version<\/strong> of the RecoverPoint plugin to install and place it in the correct path<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For example, a manual installation is needed when a vCenter upgrade<\/strong> from an old version takes place and the plugin cannot be migrated automatically.<\/p>\n

Download the RecoverPoint plugin<\/h2>\n

From Dell-EMC website<\/a> download the correct plugin. Keep in mind the plugin must be the same version<\/strong> as the installed RecoverPoint version.<\/p>\n

Enable vCSA SSH access<\/h2>\n

To install the plugin you need to enable the SSH access<\/strong> in the vCSA to allow the configuration. Login the VAMI by entering the root<\/em> credentials and click Login<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Go to Access<\/strong> section and click Edit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Manual install the plugin<\/h2>\n

Using a tool like PuTTY, SSH the vCSA and enable the shell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From the command line, create the folder<\/strong> where the plugin will be copied.<\/p>\n

Now you need to copy the plugin to the VCSA. If you use a tool like WinSCP, you need to enable the Bash Shell<\/strong> in the vCSA first.<\/p>\n

Since we don't need to copy additional files into the vCSA, return to the Appliance Shell<\/strong> by running this command:<\/p>\n

Now restart the Web Client service<\/strong> to make the plugin visible. The HTML Web Client won't be affected and only the flex Web Client will be temporarily unavailable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
