Storage account, Network and Repository are the components needed<\/strong> by the VBA to safely process and store the backups.<\/p>\n

Configure Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure<\/h2>\n

From your Azure portal<\/a>, go to Dashboard > All resource<\/strong> and select the VM running the Veeam software.<\/p>\n

Select Overview<\/strong> section and identify the IP address<\/strong> assigned to the VM in order to perform the login.<\/p>\n

From your favorite browser enter the address https:\/\/<IP_Address_VBA><\/span> to display the login page<\/strong> of your VBA. Enter the credentials configured during the installation then click Log in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Accept the EULA and click Accept<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Add Microsoft Azure Connection<\/h4>\n

First time you login, the configuration page<\/strong> is displayed. Click Add Microsoft Azure Connection<\/strong> option to connect your Azure environment.<\/p>\n

In Azure Account<\/strong> tab click Add<\/strong> to add a new Azure account.<\/p>\n

Enter a Name<\/strong> for the account to configure and optionally a Description<\/strong> then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select Create service account automatically<\/strong> to create the service account required to logon to Azure.<\/p>\n

Copy the code<\/strong> and click on the link to open the login page to sign in to Azure.<\/p>\n

Paste the code and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Specify the account used to logon to Azure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The authentication process has been completed successfully.<\/p>\n

The sign in procedure<\/strong> to Azure is now complete and the configuration of the VBA can continue. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Next<\/strong> if you don't have specific requirements.<\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong> to save the configured account.<\/p>\n

The Azure Account is configured in the VBA instance.<\/p>\n

Review Workers Configuration<\/h4>\n

Workers are basically virtual machines deployed to Azure<\/strong> regions to perform backup and restore tasks allowing to dramatically reduce the costs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Data are moved<\/strong> between different regions and to different objects storage outside these regions. Workers come into play at this stage. The Number of Workers instances<\/strong> depends on how many workloads you need to protect and how many data you need to move.<\/p>\n

Click on Review Workers Configuration<\/strong> to proceed with the configuration.<\/p>\n

Click Add<\/strong> in the Network<\/strong> area to specify the region and workers instances.<\/p>\n

Select the desired Region<\/strong> from the drop-down menu and specify Min<\/strong> and Max<\/strong> values to define the Number of workers instances<\/strong> required. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the Virtual Network<\/strong> previously configured in Azure and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The worker instance has been created succesffully.<\/p>\n

Add Repository<\/h4>\n

Next step is the configuration of the repository to store the backups. Click Add Repository<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Add<\/strong> to create the new repository.<\/p>\n

Enter a Name<\/strong> of the repository to configure and optionally a Description<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the Azure Account<\/strong> to connect to the Azure repository then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the Storage Account<\/strong> previosuly created in Azure and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the Container<\/strong> used to store the backups and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you don't have any existing folder, select Create new folder<\/strong> option and enter the desired name. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To enforce security<\/strong>, backups can be encrypted. Thick Enable encryption<\/strong> option and specify the Password<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong> to save the repository.<\/p>\n

Additional configuration can be made, such as e-mail notifications<\/strong>. Access the E-mail Settings<\/strong> tab and enter the required parameters.<\/p>\n

The configuration of Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure is complete. You can now create the policy<\/strong> to protect the virtual machines running in Azure.<\/p>\n
