If you need to shutdown or startup<\/strong> vRealize Operations Manager<\/a> cluster, you need to follow the correct shutdown order<\/strong>\u00a0to avoid negative effects on the cluster.<\/p>\n

The correct way to take the entire cluster offline or online is performed through the GUI by clicking Take Offline<\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0Bring Online<\/b>\u00a0under\u00a0Cluster Status<\/b>. If you are not able to finalize the procedure from the GUI, you need to follow a specific order to shutdown and startup vRealize Operations Manager<\/a> components.<\/p>\n

To shutdown the vROPS cluster<\/strong> from the GUI, open your preferred browser and enter the address https:\/\/<vrops_ip>\/admin<\/span> and login using the admin<\/em> credentials. In the Cluster Status<\/strong> section click Take Cluster Offline<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

vROPS shutdown order<\/h2>\n

To take the Nodes Offline, from the vCenter you have to perform a shutdown Guest OS action for the involved VMs.<\/p>\n

vRealize Operations Manager nodes should be taken offline in the following order:<\/p>\n

  1. Remote collector node(s)<\/li>\n
  2. Data node(s)<\/li>\n
  3. Primary replica node (if applicable)<\/li>\n
  4. Primary node<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    vROPS startup order<\/h2>\n

    To take the Nodes Online, from the vCenter Power On<\/b> the vRealize Operations Manager VMs in the following order:<\/p>\n

    1. Primary node<\/li>\n
    2. Primary replica node\u00a0(if applicable)<\/li>\n
    3. Data node(s)<\/li>\n
    4. Remote collector node(s)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Following the correct shutdown and startup order, the vRealize Operations Manager<\/a> cluster maintain the correct functionality and efficiency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
