After installing VMware App Volumes<\/a>, you need to configure the software to match your working environment.<\/p>\n

Active Directory<\/a> domain, administrator roles and datastores are the parameters you need to setup<\/strong> to have App Volumes working in your infrastructure.<\/p>\n

App Volumes configuration<\/h2>\n

Once the installation has been completed, the configuration wizard is displayed. Click Get Started<\/strong> to proceed with the configuration.<\/p>\n

Click Edit<\/strong> to insert a different license or click Next<\/strong> to keep default license.<\/p>\n

Specify the AD Domain Name<\/strong> and enter the Username<\/strong> and Password<\/strong> to access the Active Directory. A user with read-only access permissions will suffice. Set the Security<\/strong> level (LDAP in the example) and click Register<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Active Directory domain has been registered successfully. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Specify the AD group to assign the Administrator role. Enter the text in the Search Groups<\/strong> field, click Search<\/strong> and select the desired group in the Choose Group<\/strong> drop-down menu.<\/p>\n

Click Assign<\/strong> to confirm the administrator roles to the selected group.<\/p>\n

Once the group has been assigned, click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

Enter the Hostname<\/strong> for the vCenter then specify Username<\/strong> and Password<\/strong> for the vCenter service account. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Accept<\/strong> button t0 accept the vCenter certificate.<\/p>\n

When the vCenter Server has been registered click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the Default Storage Location<\/strong> for both Packages<\/strong> and Writable Volumes<\/strong> to use then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the desired Storage Setting<\/strong> option (in the example the Import volumes in the background<\/strong> option has been chosen) and click Set Defaults<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the requested templates then click Upload<\/strong>. Select all templates to have all available options to Writable Volumes.<\/p>\n

Leave default values and click Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click OK<\/strong> to complete the configuration wizard.<\/p>\n

Once the configuration has been completed, you are ready to proceed with the creation of Applications<\/strong> or Writable Volumes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
