This new feature is <strong>licensed as a separate module<\/strong> and it is based on VM instances, SQL (DB and Server), and Azure Functions.<\/p>\n<p>Runecast Analyzer covers the following services in Azure:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>Azure Active Directory<\/li>\n<li>Azure App Services<\/li>\n<li>AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)<\/li>\n<li>Disks<\/li>\n<li>Key Vault<\/li>\n<li>MySQL Server<\/li>\n<li>Network Security Groups<\/li>\n<li>PostgreSQL Server<\/li>\n<li>SQL Server<\/li>\n<li>Storage Accounts<\/li>\n<li>Subscriptions<\/li>\n<li>Virtual Machines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Enable Azure analysis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To analyze Azure, you need first to connect Runecast Analyzer to your <strong>Azure account<\/strong> by creating in Azure Directory an <strong>Application ID<\/strong> and the <strong>Client Secret<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To retrieve your application Azure account, login to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/portal.azure.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">portal.azure.com<\/a> and go to <strong>Azure Active Directory &gt; App registration<\/strong> area then click on the desired application.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48412 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-02-600x415.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-02\" width=\"600\" height=\"415\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Write down <strong>Application (client) ID<\/strong> and <strong>Directory (tenant) ID<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48414 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-03\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-03-600x334.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-03\" width=\"600\" height=\"334\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Go to <strong>Certificates &amp; secrets<\/strong> section and retrieve the <strong>Client secret<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48416 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-04\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-04-600x337.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-04\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Runecast Analyzer, go to <strong>Settings &gt; Connections<\/strong> and click <strong>Add Azure<\/strong> under <strong>Azure connection settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48420 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-05\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-05-600x283.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-05\" width=\"600\" height=\"283\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Paste <strong>Directory (tenant) ID<\/strong>, <strong>Application (client) ID<\/strong>, and <strong>Client Secret<\/strong> values previously copied. Click on <strong>Analyze now<\/strong> to check your Azure environment against best practices and security compliance.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48444 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-10\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-10-600x315.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-10\" width=\"600\" height=\"315\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Australia\u2019s Essential 8 standard<\/h4>\n<p>Runecast already introduced in previous releases the <strong>support for security standards<\/strong> such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, DISA STIG, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, BSI IT-Grundschutz (Germany), Cyber Essentials (UK), and VMware Security Configuration Guide.<\/p>\n<p>In version 5.0, Runecast provides the region-specific Australia's Essential 8 standards that allows to identify and mitigate an array of <strong>compliance of risk, security issues<\/strong> throughout IT infrastructure from a <strong>single pane of glass<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To enable this new feature, go to <strong>Settings &gt; Knowledge Profiles<\/strong> and click on the <strong>Edit<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48446 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-11\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-11-600x477.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-11\" width=\"600\" height=\"477\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>Essential Eight<\/strong> profile and click <strong>Update<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48448 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-12\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-12-600x477.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-12\" width=\"600\" height=\"477\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The new security profile has been enabled.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-48450 size-large\" title=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-13\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-13-600x475.jpg\" alt=\"runecast-analyzer-5-0-azure-analysis-13\" width=\"600\" height=\"475\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>New licensing model<\/h4>\n<p>To <strong>optimize costs<\/strong> based on the production environment, Runecast 5.0 introduces a new licensing model dividing the licensing in two main areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>vSphere environment<\/li>\n<li>Public Cloud environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>AWS, Azure and Kubernetes<\/strong> - these <strong>licenses are now separated<\/strong> from the existing VMware licensing.
