SA comes with pre-installed external backup, antivirus, and ProActive support.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Supported protocols<\/h2>\n<p>StarWind Storage Appliance supports the following protocols:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>iSCSI<\/li>\n<li>SMB3<\/li>\n<li>NFS<\/li>\n<li>RDMA-capable SMB Direct, iSER and NVMe over Fabrics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The appliance also supports the <strong>Ethernet fabrics<\/strong> including 1, 10, 25\/40\/50\/100 GbE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>StarWind Storage Appliance use case<\/h2>\n<p>In a typical <a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/starwind-linux-vsan-appliance\/\">hyperconverged infrastructure<\/a> where the <strong>storage scalability<\/strong> strongly depends on <strong>available bays on the node<\/strong> to accommodate the capacitive hard disks, becomes hard to extend the storage space unless a <strong>new node is added<\/strong> to the cluster. The dual storage controllers ensure HA and the typical use is indicated for <strong>secondary data and virtualization storage<\/strong>.
