Select <strong>Add backup repository<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54313 size-large\" title=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-03\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-03-600x357.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-03\" width=\"600\" height=\"357\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>Object storage<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54315 size-large\" title=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-04\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-04-600x490.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-04\" width=\"600\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the Object Storage to use as repository (<a href=\"https:\/\/wasabi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wasabi Cloud Storage<\/a> in the example).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54317 size-large\" title=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-05\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-05-600x490.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-05\" width=\"600\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Enter a <strong>Name<\/strong> for the new repository and optionally a <strong>Description<\/strong>. Click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54323 size-large\" title=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-08\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-08-600x556.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-08\" width=\"600\" height=\"556\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To specify the <strong>Folder<\/strong> where backups will be stored, click <strong>Browse<\/strong> and select the folder accordingly. You can also create a new folder by clicking on <strong>New Folder<\/strong> button. Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to save the selection.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54325 size-large\" title=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-09\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-09-600x592.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-09\" width=\"600\" height=\"592\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Enable the <strong>Limit object storage consumption to<\/strong> option to control the <strong>data transferred<\/strong> to the Object Storage. Stored backups can also be immutable by enabling <strong>Make recent backups immutable for X days<\/strong> option. Bear in mind that you need a Bucket configured with <strong>Object Lock feature enabled<\/strong> to have immutable backups. Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54341 size-large\" title=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-17\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-17-600x427.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-17\" width=\"600\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click <strong>Add<\/strong> to specify the VMs to backup. In the example the VMs to protect are selected by using the <a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/veeam-9-using-vsphere-tags-backup\/\">Tags<\/a>. Click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54343 size-large\" title=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-18\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-18-600x491.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-18\" width=\"600\" height=\"491\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The VMs to protect have been selected. Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-54345 size-large\" title=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-19\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-19-600x427.jpg\" alt=\"veeam-v12-sneak-peek-direct-backup-object-storage-19\" width=\"600\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the <strong>Backup repository<\/strong> drop-down menu, select the previously created repository and specify the <strong>Retention policy<\/strong>. If you configured the <a href=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/en\/veeam-v11-hardened-repository-immutability-pt-1\/\">repository as Immutable<\/a>, the retention for the Backup Job must be <strong>equal or lower<\/strong> than the immutable retention.
