When you try to configure the HTML Plugin in RecoverPoint<\/a> due to a missing connection with the vCenter Server, you receive the error \"could not get vm uuid for rpa -1<\/em>\".<\/p>\n

Accessing the RecoverPoint plugin<\/a> in the vCenter Server, the dashboard is empty<\/strong> and no data are reported about the protection status.<\/p>\n

The HTML Plugin Server<\/strong> is not communicating properly with the vCenter Server.<\/p>\n

Fix the \"could not get vm uuid for rpa -1\" error<\/h2>\n

From a supported browser, type the address for the RecoverPoint cluster<\/strong> and enter the correct credentials. Click Login<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As you can notice, the HTML Plugin Server is not displayed in the screen. Click the Configure plugin server<\/strong> option at the bottom.<\/p>\n

When you try to reconfigure the Plugin Server, the \"could not get vm uuid for rpa -1<\/em>\" error is displayed. One reason of this issue could be that the user configured to connect the vCenter<\/strong> has been deleted or the password has changed.<\/p>\n

To fix the issue, you need to SSH the vRPA<\/strong> to run some commands.<\/p>\n

From the Main Menu<\/strong> enter number 6<\/strong> to select the System management CLI<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

From the CLI area, run the following command and enter the requested info:<\/p>\n

# update_vcenter_server_registration -f
\n> RPA cluster name<\/span> (e.g. Milan<\/em>)
\n> vCenter Server name<\/span> (e.g. vcsa01.nolabnoparty.local<\/em>)
\n> New username<\/span> (e.g. backup.service@lab.local<\/em>)
\n> Password<\/span><\/p>\n

Now press Enter<\/strong> to validate the credentials.<\/p>\n

From the RecoverPoint cluster re-lunch the HTML Plugin Server configuration<\/strong>. This time the operation completes successfully and the \"could not get vm uuid for rpa -1<\/em>\" error is no longer displayed.<\/p>\n

In the RecoverPoint cluster, the Plugin Server is now connected.<\/p>\n
