Click <strong>Recover<\/strong> and select <strong>Full recovery for VMware<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62397 size-large\" title=\"nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-02\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-02-600x290.jpg\" alt=\"nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-02\" width=\"600\" height=\"290\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From an <strong>existing Backup Job or Backup Copy Job<\/strong>, select the VM to recover (<em>lx-wordpress01<\/em> in the example) and click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62415\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-03-600x422.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"422\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Specify the desired <strong>Container<\/strong>, <strong>Datastore<\/strong>, <strong>Network<\/strong> and <strong>VM folder<\/strong>. Click <strong>Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62417\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-04-600x399.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Give the <strong>Job name<\/strong> a name and specify the <strong>Recovered VM Options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The available recovery options are the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Recovery mode<\/strong> - specify if VMs should be recovered in <em>Synthetic mode<\/em> (environment dependencies will be removed from recovered VMs) or in <em>Production mode<\/em> (environment dependencies will be preserved on the recovered VMs).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recovered VM names<\/strong> - specify the syntax of recovered VM names.<\/li>\n<li><strong>VM disks<\/strong> - during the recovery process, VM disks can be converted to thin disks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>VM MAC addresses<\/strong> - used to create a new MAC address.<\/li>\n<li><strong>VM power on<\/strong> - specify if the VM must be powered on after recovery.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Click <strong>Finish<\/strong>\u00a0to save the configuration.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62419\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-05-600x473.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"473\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Right click the just created job and select <strong>Run<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62421\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-06-600x431.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"431\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>Run for all VMs<\/strong> and click <strong>Run<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62423\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-07-600x250.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"250\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>The recovery operation is being executed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62425\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-08-600x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"265\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>After a few seconds the restore has been completed successfully.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62427\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-09-600x412.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"412\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>From the vSphere Client, you can see the <strong>recovered VM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62429\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-10-600x276.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"276\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Restore VMware VMs with Flash boot<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nakivo.com\/features\/instant-vm-recovery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flash boot<\/a> feature allows the administrators to boot VMs to recover directly from compressed and deduplicated VM backups <strong>without recovering the entire VM first<\/strong>.\u00a0This feature is useful to <strong>quickly recover a VM<\/strong>. This operation will create a new VM on the target server.<\/p>\n<p>Go to <strong>Jobs<\/strong> section and click <strong>Recover<\/strong>. Select <strong>Flash boot for VMware<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62431\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-11-600x291.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"291\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Select the VM to boot (<em>w22-paris<\/em> in the example) and click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62433\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-12-600x422.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"422\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Specify the desired <strong>Container<\/strong>, <strong>Datastore<\/strong>, <strong>Network<\/strong> and <strong>VM folder<\/strong>. Click <strong>Finish &amp; Run<\/strong> to save the configuration and run the job immediately.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62439\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-15-600x422.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"422\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Select <strong>Run for all VMs<\/strong> and click <strong>Run<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62441\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-16-600x250.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"250\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>The selected VM is booted from the Backup Repository.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62445\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-17-600x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"265\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>After a few seconds the boot operation completes successfully.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62447\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-18-600x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"265\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>From the vSphere Client, you can see the <strong>recovered VM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62449\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-19-600x276.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"276\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>To stop the Flash boot recovery, right click the job and select <strong>Discard VMs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62451\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-20-600x443.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"443\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>File level recovery<\/h2>\n<p>Go to <strong>Jobs<\/strong> section and click <strong>Recover<\/strong>. Select <strong>Individual files<\/strong>\u00a0option.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62453\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-21-600x291.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"291\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Select the VM with the files\/folders to recover then click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62455\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/nakivo-restore-vmware-vms-22-600x396.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Specify the desired <strong>Recovery Method<\/strong>. Specify the <strong>Share type<\/strong> and the <strong>Path to the share<\/strong>.
