To validate a created plan without impacting the production<\/strong>, the Orchestrator uses DataLabs (aka Virtual Labs<\/a> in <\/span>Veeam Backup & Replication<\/a>) <\/span>to run Recovery Plans in an isolated environment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Created the Virtual Lab on a Veeam Backup & Replication Server used by Veeam Recovery Orchestrator<\/a> (VRO), you need to configure a connection<\/strong> to the VMware ESXi used to manage the lab.<\/p>\n

Wait some minutes before proceeding with the configuration to complete the synchronization<\/strong> between VRO and Veeam Backup & Replication.<\/p>\n

Configure DataLabs<\/h2>\n

Before running the Recovery Plans, make sure you have configured a Virtual Lab<\/strong> in Veeam Backup & Replication.<\/p>\n

Access the Administration > DataLabs<\/strong> area, select the configured Virtual Lab<\/strong> then click Edit<\/strong>. If you don't see the Virtual Lab configured in Veeam Backup & Replication where the Orchestrator was installed, open the Veeam ONE console<\/strong> and go to Configuration<\/strong> area. In the Data Collection<\/strong> section, click the Start<\/strong> button to collect the components configured in Veeam Recovery Orchestrator.<\/p>\n

Click Assign<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select Default Scope<\/strong> and click Apply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When the Scope<\/strong> has been assigned, click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Choose<\/strong> to specify the Recovery Location<\/strong> to use.<\/p>\n

Select the Recovery Location to use then click Apply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Recovery Location has been assigned. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong> to save the DataLab configuration.<\/p>\n

Test the plan in DataLabs<\/h2>\n

Access the Recovery Plans<\/strong> section and select the Recovery Plan to test. Click Verify<\/strong> and select Run DataLab Test<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the DataLab to use and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select Test then power off immediately<\/strong> option then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong> to run the test.<\/p>\n

The selected Recovery Plan is being tested.<\/p>\n

Login to the DR vCenter Server, in vSphere Client you can see the VMs included<\/strong> in the Recovery Plan under test.<\/p>\n

When the test is complete, the Latest Test<\/strong> column displays the result. Passed<\/strong> means that everything works as expected.<\/p>\n
