Before upgrading<\/h2>\n

If the installed App Volumes Manager is a version earlier than 2.18<\/strong>, you must first upgrade to version 2.18 before proceed.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Retrieve SQL Server and database in use<\/h4>\n

Take a note of the server name and database<\/strong> used by App Volumes Manager. Access the Windows Administrative Tools<\/strong> in your server and click ODBC Data Sources<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Go to System DNS<\/strong> and select the System Data Source<\/strong> to analyze then click Configure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Write down the SQL Server<\/strong> used and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enter the Login ID<\/strong> and Password<\/strong> to access the SQL Server and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Write down the configured default database<\/strong> then click Cancel<\/strong> to exit the window.<\/p>\n

Backup and snapshot the server<\/h4>\n

Make sure to have a valid backup of App Volumes Manager and the database<\/strong>. From your vSphere Client, take a snapshot<\/strong> of the Server.<\/p>\n

Upgrade the App Volumes Manager<\/h2>\n

From Omnissa website<\/a> download version 2503 of App Volumes Manager and copy the ISO file to the Server<\/strong> where the application to upgrade is installed.<\/p>\n

Mount the ISO file and go to the Installation<\/strong> folder. Double click the Setup.msi<\/strong> file to run the upgrade.<\/p>\n

Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select Install App Volumes Manager<\/strong> option and click Install<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the Setup Wizard is displayed, click Next<\/strong> to proceed.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Install<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The installation is being executed. The upgrade takes about 5\/10 minutes to complete<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the upgrade operation is completed successfully, click Finish<\/strong> to exit the wizard. Keep in mind that previously configured certificates are retained<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Remove the snapshot from the server.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Open your preferred browser and type the address https:\/\/<AppVols_Server_IP><\/span> to access the the new App Volume Manager.<\/p>\n

Upgrade the App Volumes Agent<\/h2>\n

Once the server has\u00a0 been upgraded, next step involves the upgrade of the agent<\/strong> installed in the Golden Images.<\/p>\n

From Installation > Agent<\/strong> folder, copy the App Volumes Agent.msi<\/em> file to the Golden Image used to distribute your VDI machines.<\/p>\n

Open the Command Prompt as Administrator<\/strong> and run the agent installer.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Install<\/strong> to begin the installation.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The upgrade is being applied.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the installation is completed successfully, click Finish<\/strong> to exit the wizard.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Yes<\/strong> to restart the system.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Upgrade the App Volumes templates<\/h2>\n

Open your preferred browser and type the address https:\/\/<AppVols_Server_IP><\/span> to access the the new App Volume Manager.<\/p>\n

Enter the correct credentials and click Login<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Go to Configuration > Storage<\/strong> and click Upload Templates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select the templates to upload and click Upload<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Upload<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The selected templates are uploaded to the system.<\/p>\n

The App Volumes Manager upgrade to version 2503 is now complete. VDIs can now take benefit of the new features<\/strong> provided.<\/p>\n
