Following the upgrade sequence, the Unified Access Gateway<\/a> (UAG) is the next component to be upgraded.<\/p>\n

Currently, there is no direct upgrade<\/strong> for the UAG but instead, the correct method is to reinstall the new version<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Before the upgrade<\/h2>\n

Since the upgrade of the Unified Access Gateway requires the deletion of the old version of the UAG, before proceeding you need to save the current configuration<\/strong> that will be imported to the new UAG later.<\/p>\n

Using your preferred browser, access the UAG login page<\/strong>, enter the required credentials and click Sign in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Configuration Manually<\/strong> pane, click Select<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In the Advanced Settings<\/strong> area, click the gear icon<\/strong> for System Configuration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enable the Quiesce Mode<\/strong> to show the UAG\u00a0as not available<\/strong> when the load balancer checks the health of the appliance. Click Save<\/strong> at the bottom to save the setting.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now go to Support Settings<\/strong> area and click JSON<\/strong> to Export Unified Access Gateway Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The configuration is saved to the Download<\/strong> folder in your computer.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now shutdown the UAG to upgrade. Right click the appliance and select Power > Shut Down Guest OS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the appliance has been powered off, delete the appliance. Right click the appliance and select Delete from Disk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Yes<\/strong> to confirm.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Upgrade the UAG<\/h2>\n

Right click the Resource Pool in which you want to deploy the new UAG and select Deploy OVF Template<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Upload Files<\/strong> and select the OVA (currently euc-unified-access-gateway-25.03.0.0-14396117930_OVF10.ova<\/em>) to install the new version. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Enter the Virtual machine name<\/strong> and the folder to store the appliance. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the compute resource to use and enable the Automatically power on deployed VM<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Ignore<\/strong> then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the required Configuration<\/strong> (Single NIC<\/em> in the example). Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the storage<\/strong> to use and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the Destination Network<\/strong> for each source network then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Enter the parameters to customize the installation then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong> to begin the deployment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The appliance is being installed.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the appliance has been installed, select the new Unified Access Gateway and click Power On<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Using your preferred browser, enter the credentials set during the configuration then click Sign In<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Select<\/strong> in the Import Settings<\/strong> pane to import the configuration saved earlier.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Browse<\/strong> to select the JSON configuration file.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Import<\/strong> to import the configuration.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The configuration has been imported successfully.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After few seconds, the connectivity to the Connection Server is restored<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Import the SSL certificate<\/h4>\n

The import of the JSON file is not enough to restore the full functionality<\/strong> of the UAG. The SSL certificate must be re-imported<\/strong> to complete the upgrade. This is required because the JSON file cannot contain private keys<\/strong> associated with an SSL server certificate since private keys cannot be exported due to security reasons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Advanced Settings<\/strong>, click the gear icon<\/strong> for the TLS Server Certificate Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Select Internet interface<\/strong>, select the Certificate Type<\/strong> (PEM<\/em> in the example) then specify the Private Key<\/strong> and the Certificate Chain<\/strong> if PEM was selected. Click Save<\/strong> to import the certificate.<\/p>\n

The certificate has been imported successfully.<\/p>\n

Upgrade the other UAGs<\/h4>\n

If other appliances are configurated in your Horizon infrastructure, you must repeat the same procedure to the other UAGs to complete the upgrade procedure.<\/p>\n

When all the installed appliances have been upgraded to the new version, the UAGs are fully working and ready to be used for production<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Horizon infrastructure upgrade process is nearly complete<\/strong>. The final step is to upgrade the Dynamic Environment Manager<\/a> tool if installed and used for VDI management.<\/p>\n
