Due to license type changes and new services, the Omnissa Edge Gateway must be installed for the Horizon infrastructure<\/a> to function properly.<\/p>\n

Omnissa Edge Gateway<\/a> is not only used for distributing the licenses for the configured POD (you can manage more PODs) but also it provides an overview of the infrastructure<\/strong> status.<\/p>\n

Access the Omnissa Connect<\/h2>\n

To begin with the Edge Gateway configuration, using your preferred browser, type the URL https:\/\/connect.omnissa.com<\/span><\/em>. To access the website you need to receive an email from Omnissa that confirm that licenses have been assigned to your account.<\/p>\n

Enter the Email address<\/strong> used to register with Omnissa and click Login with Omnissa Account<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Enter the Password<\/strong> and click Sign in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If configured, the MFA is requested. Click Sign in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Once the login is complete, the main dashboard displays the licensed services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

From this dashboard it is also possible to check the Tenants assigned to the current account<\/strong>. Click on the account name then click on View Organization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In this example only one Tenant is assigned to the logged account.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Deploy the Omnissa Edge Gateway<\/h2>\n

To configure the Omnissa Edge Gateway, click on Horizon Cloud<\/strong> to access the dedicated area.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The first time you access this area, you must specify the Horizon Cloud Region<\/strong> to use. Accept the EULA and click Save & Continue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click I understand<\/strong> to acknowledge this feature.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Licenses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Licenses page shows the number of available licenses<\/strong> you can use in your infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Configure the Omnissa Edge Gateway<\/h4>\n

The configuration of the appliance is a eight steps procedure you must fill to download the appliance<\/strong> for your infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Select Capacity > Horizon Edges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Start<\/strong> and select the resource capacity provider to use (Horizon 8<\/em> in the example).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Confirm the requirements are met by checking the I confirm that all requirements are met<\/strong> checkbox then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Enter the Horizon Edge name<\/strong> and an optional Description<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Specify the Capacity type<\/strong> from the dropdown menu. In the example, the Horizon infrastructures is a Private data center (vSphere)<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Enter the FQDN<\/strong> of the appliance and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The appliance is being created by the system.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After few seconds the Edge Gateway appliance is created.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Download<\/strong> to download the OVA file in your computer.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the appliance has been downloaded, click Next<\/strong> to continue.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Write down the Pairing Code<\/strong> used to match the appliance with the system because it will be requested during the deploying of the appliance in the vCenter. Click Save & Close<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Capacity<\/strong> windows displays the status of the appliance deployment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Deploy the Edge Gateway in the vCenter<\/h4>\n

In the vCenter Server right click the vSphere object where the appliance will be installed and select Deploy OVF Template<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Upload Files<\/strong> and select the OVA file downloaded earlier. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Enter the Virtual machine name<\/strong> and the location<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the computer resource<\/strong> and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Accept the EULA and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the datastore to use and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the Network<\/strong> to assign to the Omnissa Edge Gateway and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Enter all the required settings. Pay attention to the Pairing Code<\/strong> that must match the value copied earlier from the Omnissa Cloud website. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong> to begin the installation.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

When the deployment is complete, the appliance powers on<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In the Capacity<\/strong> area, the Horizon Edges<\/strong> section has a Deploying Status<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Go back to the Omnissa Connect configuration dashboard and click Refresh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After some seconds the Pairing Status<\/strong> is reported as Paring Successful<\/strong>. The Edge Gateway is now connected. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now enter the Connection Server settings and click\u00a0Finish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Confirm<\/strong> to accept the proposed certificate.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Horizon Edge is now connected to the Connection Server.<\/p>\n

The final step is to activate the subscription license<\/strong> from the Connection Server Console.<\/p>\n

Installing the Omnissa Edge Gateway enables you to manage your licensing<\/strong> and licensed services and gives you the capability to monitor your infrastructure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
