Add this account to the <strong>Local Administrator<\/strong> group on each Hyper-V cluster node.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-68372\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/how-to-install-nakivo-on-hyperv-36-600x518.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"518\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is possible that when attempting to add the Hyper-V cluster to Nakivo, you may <strong>receive an error<\/strong> similar to the one shown below.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-68373\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/how-to-install-nakivo-on-hyperv-37-600x209.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"209\" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p>Here are <strong>several potential causes<\/strong> for an error at this stage. Recommended troubleshooting steps include the following.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The service account is not Built-In Administrator.<\/li>\n<li>Port 5986 is not open on the Hyper-V nodes.<\/li>\n<li>The hostname cannot be resolved by DNS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>The service account is not Built-In Administrator<\/h4>\n<p>On each Hyper-V node, add the following registry key:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Key:<\/strong> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\System<br \/>\n<strong>Value name:<\/strong> LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy<br \/>\n<strong>Type:<\/strong> REG_DWORD (32-bit)<br \/>\n<strong>Value data:<\/strong> 1<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Open the <strong>Registry Editor<\/strong> and navigate to the key path.
