The\u00a0Omnissa Edge Gateway<\/a>\u00a0upgrade is a maintenance task that should be performed whenever Omnissa releases a new version to ensure your infrastructure remains aligned with the latest updates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Before proceeding, ensure you have access<\/strong> to the Omnissa Connect portal to retrieve the necessary configuration details.<\/p>\n

Power off the old Edge Gateway<\/h2>\n

Before deploying the new version, the existing Edge Gateway appliance must be powered off<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Form the vSphere Client, right click the Edge Gateway and select Power > Shut Down Guest OS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Upgrade Omnissa Edge Gateway<\/h2>\n

Once the VM has been powered off, login to the Omnissa Connect portal<\/a> by entering the credentials and click Sign in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the portal, expand the Administrator Access<\/strong> section and click Horizon Cloud<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Under Capacity<\/strong>, select Horizon Edges<\/strong> to view your configured Horizon Edges.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Access the Maintenance<\/strong> tab. If a new upgrade is available, the version\u00a0Description<\/strong>\u00a0will be displayed. Click\u00a0Upgrade<\/b> to proceed.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Download<\/strong> to retrieve the latest version of the appliance. Take note of the Pairing code<\/strong> shown at the bottom, you will need it later.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Save the .OVA file<\/strong> to your computer. Click Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Deploy the new appliance<\/h2>\n

Once the download is complete, go to the vSphere Client, right-click the target object for deployment, and select Deploy OVF Template<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Click Upload Files<\/strong>, select the just downloaded .OVA file and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Specify the Virtual machine name<\/strong> and folder then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the compute resource<\/strong> and check the\u00a0 Automatically power on deployed VM<\/strong> box. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Ignore<\/strong> on any certificate warnings and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Check the I accept al license agreements<\/strong> box and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Select the appropriated Datastore<\/strong> and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Choose the correct Destination Network<\/strong> and click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Return to the Omnissa Connect portal and copy the Pairing code<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

In the vSphere Client, enter the required details and paste the code into the Pairing Code<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Scroll down to configure the Network parameters<\/strong>. Click Next<\/strong> once all fields are populated.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Click Finish<\/strong> to begin the deployment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Power on the new Edge Gateway<\/h2>\n

When the deployment is complete, if the VM did not start automatically, right click the appliance and select Power > Power on<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Omnissa Connect portal, click Refresh<\/strong> within the Maintenance<\/strong> tab to update the status.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Since the new version is now installed, no further updates<\/strong> should be displayed.<\/p>\n

In the Horizon Edges<\/strong> tab, the new appliance will appear as Connected<\/strong>. Allow the system a few moments to finalize the connection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Your\u00a0Omnissa Horizon<\/a>\u00a0infrastructure is now successfully running on the updated Edge Gateway.<\/p>\n
