To allow the apostrophe in email addresses with WatchGuard firewalls, it\u2019s necessary to modify the SMTP-proxy<\/strong> configuration.<\/p>\n Even if apostrophe character is allowed in email addresses (ex. simon.o\u2019connor@domain.com<\/em>), if an external user tries sending an email to your network protected by WatchGuard firewall, the system may returns the sender the message of unavailable mailbox<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Because SMTP-proxy by default\u00a0doesn't\u00a0allow<\/strong> the character \u201c '<\/strong> \u201d, it is necessary to edit some settings to allow the apostrophe.<\/p>\n Open WatchGuard System Manager<\/strong> then Policy Manager<\/strong>. Right click the SMTP-proxy rule then select Modify Policy<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n Click the View\/Edit Proxy<\/strong> button in the right side of Proxy action<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n From Address > Mail From<\/strong> of the SMTP-proxy, click Change View<\/strong> button to switch to Advanced View<\/strong>.
