From the <strong>Manage<\/strong> tab select <strong>Flash Devices<\/strong> then click <strong>Add Devices<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration10\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration10.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration10\" width=\"448\" height=\"186\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the flash devices to use then click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration11\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration11.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration11\" width=\"600\" height=\"408\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Selected flash devices are <strong>added to the cluster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration12\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration12.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration12\" width=\"600\" height=\"197\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Flash devices can be removed from Flash Clusters at any time <strong>without the need to power off<\/strong> virtual machines or hosts that are configured to use them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Associate Datastores\/VMs<\/h4>\n<p>Select <strong>Datastores\/VMs<\/strong> tab then click <strong>Add Datastores<\/strong> to specify which datastores to accelerate.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration13\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration13.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration13\" width=\"486\" height=\"207\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the <strong>datastores to add<\/strong> to the Flash Cluster then click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration14\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration14.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration14\" width=\"600\" height=\"394\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When a datastore is added to the Flash Cluster, all VMs stored in that datastore <strong>inherit the Flash Cluster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration15\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration15.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration15\" width=\"600\" height=\"167\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To <strong>add only individual virtual machines<\/strong>, remove the datastore and click <strong>Add VMs<\/strong> instead. Select the VMs to accelerate then click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration16\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration16.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration16\" width=\"600\" height=\"410\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Flash Cluster contains <strong>only the selected VMs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration17\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration17.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration17\" width=\"600\" height=\"234\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During the configuration of datastores or virtual machines to accelerate, you have to specify the <strong>Write Policy<\/strong>. Two options are available:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>Write Through<\/li>\n<li>Write Back<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration18\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration18.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration18\" width=\"594\" height=\"257\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If necessary, it\u2019s possible to change the network used by FVP (default vMotion) by selecting <strong>Manage<\/strong> tab then clicking on <strong>Advanced<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration19\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration19.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration19\" width=\"550\" height=\"267\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select the <strong>Summary<\/strong> tab to have an overview of the FVP Cluster status.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"margin: 0px auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; float: none; padding-top: 0px; border: 0px;\" title=\"fvpconfiguration20\" src=\"https:\/\/nolabnoparty.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/fvpconfiguration20.jpg\" alt=\"fvpconfiguration20\" width=\"600\" height=\"509\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Flash Cluster setup is now complete.
