Once VMware Horizon 6 has been installed, we need to do some configuration in the system: create the AD service account, setup the vCenter role and link the Connection server to vCenter.<\/p>\n
This configuration is very important\u00a0to set the correct parameters required\u00a0by the system.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
VMware Horizon 6 - part 1 install Connection Server<\/a> <\/p>\n To use vCenter Server with View, a user account must be configured with correct permissions to perform operations in vCenter Server. On one Domain Controller create an AD service account<\/strong> VMware View will use to connect to vCenter.<\/p>\n Add the Create Computer Objects<\/strong>, Delete Computer Objects<\/strong>\u00a0and Write All Properties<\/strong> permissions to the account.<\/p>\n All required permissions<\/strong> for the user account:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Using vSphere Web Client, access vCenter Server and from the Home Page go to Administration > Roles<\/strong>. Click on Create roles action<\/strong> green plus icon (+<\/strong>).<\/p>\n Assign a Role name and set the permissions<\/strong> shown in the table below.<\/p>\n From vSphere Web Client navigate to Home > vCenter > Hosts and Clusters<\/strong>. Click the vCenter Server name and select the Manage<\/strong> tab. In the Permissions<\/strong> tab click the Add permission<\/strong> green plus icon (+<\/strong>).<\/p>\n On the left side click on the Add<\/strong> button to add the AD service account then click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Assign the View Administrator<\/strong> role previously configured then click OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The service account just added.<\/p>\n Access the View Administrator console<\/strong> typing the correct credentials in the browser.\u00a0Click on\u00a0Login<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In the main screen, go to View Configuration > Servers<\/strong>. In vCenter Servers<\/strong> tab click on Add<\/strong> button to specify the vCenter Server.<\/p>\n Fill the requested fields then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Since no SSL certificates have been configured yet, click View Certificate<\/strong> button. For production environments is strongly recommended to use a CA.<\/p>\n Click on Accept<\/strong> button to accept the self-signed certificate created during the vCenter Server installation.<\/p>\n Select Do not use View Composer<\/strong> option since View Composer hasn\u2019t been installed yet. Click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Leave default values then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Click Finish<\/strong> to complete the procedure.<\/p>\n The vCenter Server is successfully added<\/strong>\u00a0to the system.<\/p>\n The configuration of main View Connection server components<\/strong> is complete.
