StarWind HyperConverged Appliance All-Flash is a cost-effective solution by StarWind that combines network, storage, compute, and software for mission-critical applications in a small 2-node cluster.
StarWind HCA is a software-defined hyperconverged platform that requires no configuration and no additional education or resources are needed to run and manage.
StarWind is also well known for providing the Virtual SAN (VSAN) software solution that eliminates any need for physical shared storage. Compatible with Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware hypervisors, VSAN mirrors internal disks and flash between hypervisor servers.
StarWind HyperConverged Appliance
In March 2020 StarWind made available the HCA All-Flash only product to provide best performance leveraging SSD storage technology.
This solution fits perfectly to small and mid-size SMB virtualized environments and consists of a server with a hypervisor (Hyper-V or VMware ESXi) and StarWind software-defined storage layer.
The All-Flash only storage configuration provides the best performance and a 2-node system can tolerate 1 node and 1 disk failure ensuring a constant uptime. HCA is completely scalable and additional storage, memory, and interface cards can be installed. Mixed mode configurations can be applied to clusters to adapt multiple workload requirements.
HCA editions
The design of StarWind HCA All-Flash places in specific dedicated parts of the platform different types of SSDs to provide maximum functionality.
StarWind HCA is available in the following editions:
- Entry Flash - entry level offer for environments with several VMs and low storage requirement.
- Capacity Flash - built to deliver high storage capacity and great performance, it provides an excellent balance between performance and cost.
- Performance Flash - offers the best performance providing high storage capacity and moderate compute power for capacity-hungry applications.
Management
The system management is done through the StarWind Command Center that provides a single-pane-of-glass management and monitoring showing dedicated dashboards with useful info about the status of each component.
ProActive Premium Support
Included with the HCA, StarWind offers the ProActive Premium Support available 24/7/365 to provide an intelligent monitoring service useful to ensure the health status of the appliance and the availability of the applications. The service is able to predict failures reacting before an issue actually occurs.
