Altaro VM Backup 6.5 has been released adding the Change Block Tracking (CBT) feature for Hyper-V that gives the backups a speed boost of up to 33 times on incremental backups.
With the Change Block Tracking (CBT) for Hyper-V Virtual Machines, incremental backups can now be completed up to 33 times quicker since the scan for changes process before each backup is no longer required.
Available editions
Altaro VM Backup 6.5 with CBT is available in three editions:
- Unlimited Edition: all functionality for an unlimited number of VMs and supports clusters
- Standard Edition: most functionality with protection of up to five VMs
- Free Edition: protects up to two VMs
Upgrade to 6.5
The upgrade process is very simple. From the Altaro console click on the icon in the right side and select Check for Updates option.
If a new version is detected, click Go to Update Download Page button to download the update file.
Run the installer to install the update. Click Next.
Accept the EULA then click Next.
Leave default Destination Folder and click Next.
Click Install to begin the installation.
The update is being installed.
When the installation has completed successfully, click Finish to exit the wizard.
Altaro VM Backup has been updated.
