The Runecast Analyzer appliance can be configured to install the KB updates applying the offline update in case of lack of Internet connectivity.
Since Runecast Analyzer uses information from the VMware Knowledge Base articles to proactively scan the vSphere infrastructure and discover potential issues, keeping the system up to date is extremely important to have the highest level of efficiency.
Login to Runecast website and download the offline update by clicking the button Download offline update.
Setup the appliance
From the vSphere Web Client, upload the offline update ISO file to the storage used by the Runecast appliance.
Right click the appliance and select Edit Settings.
Expand the CD/DVD drive 1 and click on Browse button.
Browse the storage and select the uploaded ISO file then click OK.
When the CD/DVD Media field points to the correct offline update, click OK to save the configuration.
Update Runecast Analyzer
Using your preferred browser, type the address https://IPaddress_appliance:5480 and insert the admin credentials. Click Login to access the administrative dashboard.
Go to Update > Settings tab and set the Update Repository field to Use CDROM Updates. Click Save Settings to save the configuration.
In the Status tab click Check Updates. Note the current Appliance Version 1.0.0.31.
The system checks available updates directly from the ISO file.
When the new update has been detected, click Install Updates to update the appliance.
Click OK to confirm.
The system installs the available update.
When the process completes successfully, the Appliance Version field reports the updated version 1.0.0.34.
Access the Runecast Analyzer dashboard to take benefit of new features.
