The Organization setup and Backup Job creation complete the necessary steps to protect your Microsoft 365 infrastructure using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365.
When the backup infrastructure is completed, it's recommended to test if the backup works as expected before moving to production.

Configure an Organization
Right click Organizations and select Add organization.
Select the organization deployment type and services to protect. Click Next.
Leave default Region and select Modern authentication option. Click Next.
If you don't have an existing Azure AD application to connect Microsoft 365 organization, Veeam will create one for you. Select Register a new Azure AD application automatically and click Next.
Enter the Name for the Azure AD application and click Install to specify the certificate to use to authenticate with Azure AD.
Select the certificate type that meets the requirements then click Next.
Enter the desired Friendly name then click Finish.
Once the certificate has been installed click Next.
Now click on Copy code then the link https://microsoft.com/devicelogin.
Paste the copied code and click Next.
Enter the administrative account of your Azure environment then click Next.
Enter password and click Next.
Click Continue.
Close the browser.
Go back to Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 console to verify you are authenticated. Click Next.
The system is configured successfully. Click Finish.

Create a Backup Job
Right click the created Organization and select Add to backup job.
Enter the Name for the new Backup Job and optionally a Description. Click Next.
Click Add and select objects to backup (Users in the example).
Select the users to backup and click Add.

If you don't have any object to exclude, click Next.
Click Select and select the Backup Repository to use and click OK.
Click Next.
Specify the desired schedule and click Create to save the configuration.

Test the backup
To test if the just created Backup Job works as expected, right click the job and select Start.
The job is being executed.
Depending on the size of your mailboxes, after some minutes the backup is completed successfully.
