VMware Compliance Checker for vSphere is a free tool to check the compliance of your vSphere environment against the VMware vSphere Hardening Guidelines.
Running this tool you can ensure that your environment remains secure and compliant. Download the Compliance Checker from the VMware website.
Procedure
Run the installer. When the Welcome screen appears, click Next to start setup.
Accept the EULA then click Next.
Leave default and click Next.
VMware compliance Checker needs Java to be installed in the system. Install/specify the correct path to javaw.exe then click Next.
Click Install to begin installation.
The application is being installed.
Click Finish button to exit the installation wizard.
Run the program
Run the application. Enter the Machine Name or IP address of the vCenter Server and type username and password to login. Click Assess Compliance button to start the process.
The application begins the assessment.
After some minutes you get a report in your browser (Chrome is not yet supported).
You can also connect with the Community to check users’ experience.
