During the login attempt to Lotus Domino server you may receive the "Administrator ID has expired" error that prevent a successful login.
Expired IDs must be recertified because the users will not be able to authenticate with any servers. The error shown during the login attempt is the following:
Your certificate has expired
Procedure
Open Domino Administrator, type the Administrator password and click Log In button.
If the Admin certificate has expired, a warning message appears during login. Click OK to close the window.
Go to Configuration tab then select Tools > Certification > Certify item.
Click on Server button, select Local as Registration Server then click OK. Select the appropriate Certifier ID then click OK to confirm.
Enter the Certifier password then click OK.
When the warning "Entry not found in index" appears, click Yes to continue.
Select the Administrator ID file (i.e. user.id) then click Open.
Type the Administrator password then click Log In.
An "Entry not found in index" warning message appears, click Yes to certify the ID file anyway.
Set a New Expiration date then click on Certify button.
Click No to skip this step.
Trying to login the server again. The Administrator is now able to login successfully.
Make a backup of the Administrator ID file and store it in a safe place together with other core ID files: cert.id, server.id and notes.ini.
