Vembu Free Endpoint Backup from BDRSuite is a complete backup solution for Windows, Linux and Mac devices provided at no cost.
With the Free Edition you can protect up to 10 Windows, Linux, Mac desktops and laptops securing data and sensitive information against hardware failure, unintentional deletion, or other data loss.
The Free Edition offers the same features set of the Standard edition with no restrictions.
In Vembu BDRSuite 7 there is an intuitive area where you can configure the Endpoints to protect.

Free Endpoint Backup provides the following key features:
- Backup - up to 10 endpoints (Windows, Linux and Mac) can be protected.
- Backup optimization - if a backup process is interrupted for any reason, when the job is restarted it will be resumed where it left off saving time.
- Endpoint backup solution - disk-image backup (Windows only) and Files and Folders (Win, Linux and Mac) are the supported backup methods.
- Storage targets - processed backup be stored to local disks, NAS (NFS and CIFS), and SAN (iSCSI and FC).
- Instant Boot - machines can be booted directly from the backup repository speeding up the restore process.
- File level recovery - files and folders can be restored preserving the existing permissions with no need to restore the entire machine.
- Application-aware backups - leveraging the Microsoft VSS technology, application backups (Microsoft Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and Active Directory) are backed up in a consistent way. The automatic Transaction Log truncation allows to save storage space.
- Scheduling - backups can be scheduled on hourly, daily, weekly basis. Additional full or synthetic full backups can be scheduled apart from the initial full backup.
- Encryption - backups privacy can be protected from prying eyes with AES-256 bit encryption algorithm (in transit and data at rest).
- Download - backup images can be exported in different formats such as VHD, VHDX, VMDK, Flat-VMDK, and RAW. Useful for P2V migrations.
- Reporting - automatic reports are generated as soon as a backup job is completed. Email notification can be used to get notified about the job status (success, failure, missed tasks, etc.).
