Nakivo released the beta of the upcoming Nakivo v10.11 providing an enhanced IT Monitoring and some new features such as Backup for Oracle RMAN on Linux and File System Indexing.
Nakivo Backup & Replication is quickly being equipped with all those functions that are required for modern backup strategies and the continuous development always brings new and interesting features in each release.
What's new in Nakivo v10.11
Nakivo v10.11 brings the following new features:
- Enhanced IT Monitoring - is now possible to customized alerts (based on host, datastore and VM metrics) for proactive protection of the VMware infrastructure using alert templates. Different reports can be configured for datastore capacity, VM and host performance, and infrastructure overview.
- Backup for Oracle RMAN on Linux - with the automated Oracle RMAN backup is now possible to protect Oracle databases running on Linux OS. Databases can be discovered and restored directly from existing backups. Oracle RMAN backups can be executed on demand or on a schedule configuring the appropriate backup job.
- File System Indexing - this new feature allows to index files and folders inside VM backups (both VMware and Hyper-V VMs) making the VM file recovery search faster. Files or folders can be quickly retrieved specifying criteria such as file name, file type, recovery point date, and location.
- HPE Alletra and HPE Primera support - VMware VMs stored on these storage devices can be backed up directly from storage snapshots speeding up the backup, replication and restore operations minimizing the impact on the production environment.
- Universal Transporter - allows to manage and protect from one interface different workloads located on the same host (VMware and Hyper-V VMs), physical servers, Oracle DBs and tape devices. This feature allows to save costs in terms of licenses, infrastructure and maintenance.
- In-Place Archive mailbox, Litigation Hold and In-Place Hold support - v10.11 can protect these mailbox types with the capability of restoring items instantly to meet regulatory compliance requirements.

Based on the business requirements, Nakivo can be licensed in two ways:
- Perpetual - licensed per CPU socket and it is charged only once.
- Subscription - licensed per Workload and it is billed annually.
