In case of data loss, Veeam Backup for Office 365 v4.0 allows to restore a backed up mailbox quickly and easily through the Veeam Explorer for Exchange tool.
Data can be restored to the same or to a different location as well as exported to a .PST file.

Restore a mailbox in Veeam Backup for Office 365 v4.0
To restore a specific mailbox to your Office 365 environment, right click the Backup Job containing the mailbox to restore and select Explore latest Exchange state of... to get the latest available backup.
Expand the Organization and locate the mailbox to recover.
The mailbox can be restored in different ways:
- Restore to same location
- Restore to a differrent location
- Exported to a .PST file
Restore to same location
Right click the mailbox account to restore and select Restore to account@domain.com option to restore data in the same location.
Enter the credentials of the account with permissions to restore to Office 365 environment and click OK.
The mailbox is being restored to same location.
After some minutes the restore process completes successfully. Click OK.
Restore to a different location
Right click the mailbox to restore and select Restore to option to restore data to a different location.
Enter the credentials of the account with sufficient permissions to restore and click Next.
Select Restore to the following folder option and specify the folder (Recovered in the example) where data will be saved.
Specify items to restore and click Restore.
The restore process is being executed.
After some minutes, the restore completes successfully. Click OK to exit.
Accessing the Office 365 mailbox you can verify the created Recovered folder with the restored mailbox data inside.
Export to .PST file
The mailbox can be also exported to .PST files. Right click the mailbox to recover and select Export to .pst file. To succeed with the export, Microsoft Outlook must be installed in the same machine where Veeam Backup for Office 365 v4.0 is installed.
