Monitoring capabilities can be extended in vRealize Operations Manager 7.5 by installing optional solutions provided by VMware or third parties.
Adapters for vCenter, vSAN, vRealize Log Insight provided by VMware are solutions that can be installed in vRealize Operations Manager 7.5 to provide information also from these products with a global overview of your environment.

Configure vRealize Operations Manager 7.5
To install and configure VMware solutions, using your preferred browser type the IP Address of your vROPs appliance then enter the credentials. Click Log In to access vRealize Operations Manager 7.5.
Configure vCenter Adapter
From Administrator section, click Configuration under Solutions item. Select VMware vSphere solution and click on Settings icon.
Specify a Display Name of the selected solution and optionally a Description. Enter the vCenter Server IP Address or FQDN then click on + (plus) sign to specify the credentials to use.
Type a Credential name and specify the User Name and Password to use. Click OK to confirm.
Leave Enabled Actions option as Enabled then click Save Settings.
Click Accept to accept the self-signed certificate.
Click OK.
The vCenter Server solution has been configured successfully. Click Close.
In the Configuration area the vCenter Adapter is now collecting data from the specified vCenter Server.
From Operations Overview area is possible to check collected information from the vCenter Adapter.
Configure vSAN Adapter
If your infrastructure uses vSAN as datastore, you can monitor also this storage type by adding the appropriate solution to vRealize Operations Manager.
From Administrator section, click Repository under Solutions item. Click Activate in the VMware vSAN widget.
Click Yes to confirm activation.
VMware vSAN solution has been activated in vROPs.
Now click Configuration under Solutions item from Administrator section and select VMware vSAN solution. Click on Settings icon to proceed with vSAN Adapter configuration.
Specify a Display Name of the selected solution and optionally a Description. Enter the vCenter Server IP Address or FQDN then click on + (plus) sign to specify the credentials to use.
Type a Credential name and specify the vCenter User Name and vCenter Password to use. Click OK to confirm.
Click Test Connection to verify the connection with vCenter.
If the connection is established successfully, click OK.
Click Save Settings to save the configuration.
Click OK.
Click Close to exit the wizard.
The vSAN solution has been configured successfully and the vSAN Adapter is now collecting data.
Configure Log Insight solution
If you have vRealize Log Insight installed in your environment, you can configure vRealize Operations Manager to integrate this product by adding the appropriate solution.
From Administrator section, click Repository under Solutions item. Click Activate in the VMware vRealize Log Insight widget.
Click Yes to confirm activation.
The vRealize Log Insight solution is being installed in the system.
After few seconds, VMware vRealize Log Insight solution has been activated in vROPs.
Again, click Configuration under Solutions item from Administrator section and select VMware vRealize Log Insight solution. Click on Settings icon to proceed with vRealize Log Insight Adapter configuration.
Specify a Display Name of the selected solution and optionally a Description. Enter the Log Insight server IP Address or FQDN then click Test Connection.
Click OK.
Click Save Settings to save the vRealize Log Insight configuration.
Click OK.
Click Close to exit the wizard.
The vRealize Log Insight solution has been configured successfully and the vRealize Log Insight Adapter is now collecting data.
Configure vRealize Operations in vCenter
To display data collected from vROPs also in vCenter, from the vCenter Server select vRealize Operations from main Menu.
Specify the Instance FQDN and Username and Password to connect. Click Test Connection to validate the connection to vROPs. Click Next.
Specify the vCenter IP and the Username and Password. Click Test Connection to validate the connection to vROPs then click Next.
Click Configure to install vRealize Operations plugin.
From the vSphere Client Menu select vRealize Operations.
Now are displayed collected information related to the vCenter Server health. Click on Quick links and select a previously configured solution, such as vSAN, to display information related to status and health.
Selecting the vSAN item, information related to the datastore are displayed in the screen.
vRealize Operations Manager is an application tha every administrator should have installed in the environment to have the global status and health insight of the managed infrastructure from a single pane of glass.
